Video: SDCC Hasbro Exclusives Tips

As you might have noticed, there is no shortage of exclusives at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). While obtaining these elusive treats is a hobby for most of us, there are a lot of pros out there that we’ll be competing with on the crowded convention floor. One quick search on eBay for “SDCC” will quickly show you how much these exclusives can go for and as a result means we need to prep like the pros and use every trick we can to get those coveted geek trophies on our shelves at home.

So, to start things off with our video guide to exclusive hunting, we’re going to arguably the most difficult booth on the floor…Hasbro.

So, what other tips do our Hasbro hunting vets have to share? Join in on the conversation and let us know what other tips you might be willing to share.

bronies…that derpy pony (that i wanted for my 6-yr old daughter) was also the only thing sold out when i got to the front of the hasbro line last year. arggghhh…..

  • SaburoDaimando

I said this in the reply of the video, but last year, while I didn’t make to the Hasbro booths, I managed to luck
out and score a Derpy Hooves toy at a 3rd party booth. It cost me more
than at the Hasbro booth, but it still was worth it.

I’m hoping to do a repeat with the Deadpool and Vinyl Scratch toy this year.

  • Monica

Thanks for the tips, Shawn. I’m confused every year about where the line starts outside, before the convention opens, to get into Sails Pavilion. Can you please give me specifics? Thanks!

  • Jesse

Excellent video! We used to be able to get into the Hasbro line with ease back in 2006 to 2010. Last two years, it’s been utterly ridiculous. We’ve tried both lines to get onto the floor on preview night and none seem to work. Guess we’ll have to try the get the ticket trick. Thanks again for the video.

  • Phil

Nice video. Just have a small question. Ill be there for Preview Night. When and where do you suggest I go to pick up these Hasbro tickets to get into the booth. Thank you

If someone who is going to be at SDCC for Hasbro, I am going to going to Mattel Booth and would help you Hasbro buyers if you need Mattel stuff

Right after you get your badge from SDCC people … go to the far east, north east corner of the Sails Pavillion is the Hasbro Line. There is Two PRE LINES usually JUST for the FLOOR tickets..These lines wrap and wind around the back 40 – backyard of SDCC and stairs and take hours at times to get through…(right outside the north east doors in the Sails Pavillion in past years)

Nick, if you need a jpeg of a Hasbro ticket I have one from last year I can photograph for you

Agreed: Hasbro security is nice and accommodating IF you yourself are NICE and not demanding. I did see several people show their plane tickets who were shut out – just out of the line cap a few times. They let them in to be sure they did NOT miss their flights, but, these people had been in the long lines for hours too. These Security people are doing a job, but they are human too.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at some more info from last year and saw that for preview night all you had to was go to the booth. Did they give out tickets to get into the booth on preview night last year?

  • keeleon

Last year I scored a Helicarrier by just walking up to the line on Saturday since they seemed to have run out of ticket holders I guess. The GI Joe stuff was all sold out though :(It was a little more complicated by the fact I was in my Predator costume, and had to lug the carrier around while being harassed for pictures ;P

(And of course it’s still sitting in the box in a corner colelcting dust, because where the hell am I supposed to put it?!)

But I have pretty much written off Hasbro exclusives anymore. And I want the Skystriker and Deadpool figures SOO bad 🙁 But I refuse to pay aftermarket!

I’ll be at the hasbro booth if you could get me the back to the future 2 hoverboard i’d be able to get what you need to get… I’m just getting a deapool corp exclusive item in a taco shell. But i really want that hoverboard lol.

  • Rebecca Pinskier

If i want a ticket before, say, noon or one, is 6am too late to line up at Sails?

  • Nascarnbroncosfans

We will need to connect up Issac. I need your email address please

  • Nascarnbroncosfans

No, You had to get the from upstairs as I posted about earlier. I am pretty sure you still needed a ticket as you can see here – Also It was a near riot because of the doors opening 30 minutes later on Thursday, Friday, Saturday ( I forget which day exactly was the near riot) but you could hear that crowd OVER everyone else on the sales floor. That was an issue to stay clear of that line. Security held everyone 30 minutes later those days (for whatever reasons) and Exhibitors sent people over with dual badges and cleaned out Hasbro / Mattel and other booths.

Since Shawn has not replied, I hope I am not stepping on toes… 3 Suggestions.

Get there EARLY. ASK others around you about Hasbro and If they are going, get there EARLY. People are nice and will HOLD a spot in line for you for bathroom trips etc. But do not abuse it.
