Diamond SDCC 2014 Exclusives [UPDATE July 8]

Diamond Comics Distributors and sister-company Diamond Select Toys have been bringing some great licensed exclusives to San Diego Comic-Con over the years, whether it’s an exclusive variant cover of a hot comic or some of their great toys from the Diamond line-up. Last year’s exclusives, announced June 8, included some great variants from IDW, Marvel and Dark Horse, as well as Minimates sets, BE@RBRICKs and more.

What will they have in store for attendees in 2014? We’ll update this master post as soon as information is made available.

[UPDATE July 8] Diamond Select Toys has at least one more San Diego Comic-Con exclusive up its sleeves – a set of Bluntman and Chronic Minimates variants. The Minimates set will be available at the Entertainment Earth Booth #2343 for $10.

Bluntman & Chronic Minimates ($10): Look, up in the sky, it’s Bluntman and Chronic! The comic-book heroes created by director Kevin Smith are living the high life, with a variety of products coming out from Diamond Select Toys based on their appearances in “Jay & SIlent Bob Strike Back.” Now, they’re getting a Comic-Con-exclusive 2-pack of Minimates mini-figures, only available through Toys “R” Us, and it’s based on their comic book appearances! With new facial expressions and paint schemes that reflect the costumes worn in their now-classic comic book mini-series, Bluntman and Chronic each stand 2 inches tall with 14 points of articulation and a variety of interchangeable parts. The two-pack comes packaged on a blister card.

[UPDATE June 23] Diamond today announced a couple of new comic variants that are sure to please the Whovians attending Comic-Con. The Tenth and Eleventh Doctors both receive SDCC variants of their respective Doctor Who #1 issues from Titan Comics. Here’s a look at the two covers, which beautifully interlock to create a panoramic picture of the Gaslamp. Each issue is limited to 3000 copies.
