Dimension Films ‘Horns’, ‘Everly’ Coming to Comic-Con; Daniel Radcliffe’s First Visit To Convention

Screen shot 2014-07-10 at 8.12.39 PMDimension Films, which is owned by The Weinstein Company, will be heading to San Diego Comic-Con with at least two of its upcoming releases, Horns and Everly. The most amazing part of this equation is that the studio is doing something that even the Harry Potter movies couldn’t accomplish — bring Daniel Radcliffe to Comic-Con.

Dimension Films will be headed to the convention center on Friday to promote both films. Horns, which made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, follows Radcliffe’s character Ignatius “Ig” Perrish who wakes up one morning to find two protrusions growing from his forehead, which give him the power to compel people to tell him their deepest secrets. To promote the film, the studio is bringing along Radcliffe, Director Alexandre Aja, and author Joe Hill, who wrote the book on which the film is based, in what is sure to be a panel with a very long line to get into.

This marks the first time that Radcliffe will ever have attended San Diego Comic-Con, despite starring in one of pop culture’s biggest blockbuster movie franchises ever. The Harry Potter films didn’t head to San Diego Comic-Con until 2010 with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and at that time, only actor Tom Felton attended to promote the upcoming release. A lot of fans have been waiting years for Radcliffe’s appearance, and now they can find him at Comic-Con — in a panel that’s set for 3-4PM on Friday.

Dimension’s other release, the action/thriller on-the-run-from-the-mob film Everly, will have talent Salma Hayek, and Jennifer Blanc, as well as Director Joe Lynch and writer Yale Hannon in the area to promote the film. It’s not yet clear how many of those individuals will be appearing at the panel, or if it will be split with Horns, but it would seem that Lynch and Hayek are at least a lock, with Lynch tweeting that the two of them will be “storming” Comic-Con on Friday. He also strongly hinted that the panel can be found in Hall H:

Although we haven’t heard anything official, there’s a third Dimension Film that could also join Horns and Everly on Friday, and it’s one that we already know will have some presence in the area: Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For. The film will be having an offsite party at the Hard Rock Hotel, and we’ve heard rumors of other offsite installations. Could it also be appearing inside the convention center in a split Hall H panel with Horns and Everly? The one hour timeslot wouldn’t leave much time to talk about each film, but it would certainly please Comic-Con attendees.

Hopefully we’ll know more tomorrow, with Comic-Con International’s release of the Friday programming schedule.
