‘Enchantment Under The SDCC’ VIP Tickets On Sale Monday July 14 9AM PT

sdccblog-enchantment2014-final

So many of our readers have been asking when they can find out more about our annual “Enchantment Under The SDCC” event. And sorry it’s taken this long to announce. We needed to confirm a few of our partners and sponsors, lock up the venue, and work on logistics to make this year’s event even better than the last.

New for this year, we’re going to have a limited number of VIP tickets available for our readers. What’s a VIP ticket get you, you ask? Well, first of all, you get one of these:

Yes, the “Hashtag” tee updated for 2014, was our winning design selected by our readers, and as a VIP you’ll get one. But that’s not all. You also get guaranteed entry to the event*. We’ll reserve space for our VIPs so you can walk right through the line like a celebrity. And you’re guaranteed to get a swag bag with goodies from BOOM! Studios, UDON and others.

* Guaranteed entry only until 8:30pm. After that you forfeit your reserved place in the pub but you still get to keep the shirt.

How much does it cost to be a VIP for our event? The low, low price of $10. VIP tickets go on sale Monday July 14 at 9am PT. We’ll post the link to the ticket sale on Twitter, so make sure you follow us at @SD_Comic_Con so you don’t miss it.

For all others wishing to attend the event, entry is still completely free, and on a first-come. first-serve basis.

A couple of other improvements we learned from last year’s experience: Swag bags will be loaded before the event, but will be handed out to guests when they exit the venue. No swarming the bar waiting for a bag this year! And raffle tickets will be passed out by the bartenders and waitstaff when you purchase a food or drink item. Henry’s Pub has been good to us in hosting our event (two years running!), and we want to encourage everyone to give a little bit back to them. So, buy some food, or a drink – alcoholic or non-alcoholic – and you’ll also get a raffle ticket for one of our great prize drawings.

That’s not all we have planned. Look for announcements on Twitter as we celebrate our fifth anniversary of covering the convention. Watch your Twitter timeline and you just might score a free cupcake from Heavenly Cupcakes in the Gaslamp. And we’ll be holding back a few of our shirts to do some secret drops around the convention throughout the weekend, so you’ll still have a few chances to get one even if you aren’t a VIP. And we’re still working on another surprise or two…

What do you think about these improvements? Excited for what we have in store for you during Comic-Con? Let us know in the comments.
