X-Men Sequel “Days of Future Past” Teased for SDCC 2013

Earlier today, director Bryan Singer teased the following early-production photo from the set of his upcoming X-Men sequel, Days of Future Past:

Could this be the entrance to Cerebro or the Danger Room in the X-Mansion? Better yet, is this confirmation that Hall H attendees might be seeing this in action come July?

We think it’s a safe bet, given the information is coming straight from the director himself. Singer has been teasing production photos on Twitter for weeks now, but this Tweet holds particular interest for those going to SDCC this year. X-Men: Days of Future Past starts filming in April, so there might even be enough time to put together an exclusive teaser for those lucky enough to score a seat in Hall H.

We also expect attendees will get a double-dose of mutant power this year, as the X-Men stand-alone sequel The Wolverine will be released in theaters July 26, 2013, just a week after Comic-Con, and should also have a big presence at the convention. Whether this means the two will share the same scheduling slot, or be part of the annual 20th Century Fox Hall H panel, either scenario is a realistic possibility.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is based on the 1981 storyline of the same name, from Marvel’s The Uncanny X-Men comic by Chris Claremont, John Byrne and Terry Austin. Returning are X-Men: First Class cast James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult; along with original X-Men trilogy stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore. Also joining the cast will be the recently-announced Peter Dinklage. The film is scheduled to be released in North America on July 18, 2014.

With Jackman expected in San Diego for The Wolverine, Dinklage present for Game of Thrones, and a stellar lineup of old and new cast members, we expect the guests on this panel will make this one of the hottest of the convention.

Is this enough to make you start lining up for Hall H? Let us know in the comments!
