Aaron Taylor-Johnson Reveals ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Visit at Comic-Con [UPDATE]

aarontaylorjohnsonGet your camping gear ready, it’s going to be a long line for Hall H.

We’ve expected for a while now that Avengers: Age of Ultron would be making an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con this year. After all, the sequel to the most successful superhero film of all time made its debut at SDCC last year with a teaser trailer and title reveal. And considering that Ultron‘s release date for North America is May 1, 2015 – and even earlier in other territories – this July’s Comic-Con will be the last before it opens in theaters.

Saying that, in the world of SDCC nothing’s ever official unless it’s official. Or in this case, until Quicksilver says it’s so.

In an interview with entertainment website I Am Rogue, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who will be starring as Quicksilver, reveals that the Avengers sequel will make an appearance at Comic-Con in July.

[UPDATE] We admit, we got a little ahead of ourselves with this story. In fact, the only thing that was revealed in the I Am Rogue story was that Taylor-Johnson would be attending SDCC “as an Avenger”, as per the quote below.

The actor himself never says the Avengers (plural) would be making a visit – that statement came from the author of the article. Taylor-Johnson only references his own appearance as Quicksilver.

The quote doesn’t confirm that Avengers: Age of Ultron would in fact be making an appearance, although we can speculate that this does increase the odds, for us at least, that the Avengers sequel will be at Comic-Con this year, for the reasons stated above.

Here’s the complete quote from the I Am Rogue article:

The globe-trotting production continues through summer, but Taylor-Johnson revealed that fans can expect an Avengers visit at San Diego Comic-Con this July.  “I’ve done Comic-Con before but going there as an Avenger is a whole new thing,” he said.

This isn’t Taylor-Johnson’s first role as a Marvel comic book character. He was the lead character in the Kick-Ass films, which was released under Marvel’s Icon imprint from creator Mark Millar, and will appear in the upcoming Godzilla from Legendary Entertainment. Godzilla, coincidentally, also stars Elizabeth Olsen, who will fight along side Taylor-Johnson in Ultron as his sister, Scarlet Witch.

No word on whether the visit mentioned in the article is a Hall H appearance, but we say you can bet on it.
