Under The Tents: 3A Toys, SherlockeDCC, TOPPS!, Artists, Exclusives

In just four weeks, we’ll be at San Diego Comic-Con, trying to take in all that the convention has to offer and probably already sitting in line for Hall H. But for now, we’ll have to make due with catching up with all kinds of San Diego Comic-Con news about what we’ll be seeing in San Diego. Today’s edition of Under the Tents has news on several exclusives, including offerings from 3A Toys, TOPPS!, several artists, and more. We’ve also gotten word of a band performing at sold-out offsite SherlockeDCC, hints of new venues for this year’s Comic-Con, and much more.

And don’t forget to check our Offsite Event calendar, presented by Eventbrite. New events added daily, like GEEKS! THE MUSICAL.

Here’s the news you might have missed:

  • 3A Toys has unveiled a sneak peak at what we presume is a collaboration with IDW, titled “The Adventures of Isobelle Pascha”. Although no additional details about the figure were given, the company did reveal this image on its blog:

  • Continuing their daily countdown to Comic-Con with a Toucan Tip of the Day, CCI warned attendees that despite the heat, it’s best to bring a hoodie or jacket, as it can get cold in the air-conditioned official SDCC areas — and listed off several areas, that included the Omni San Diego hotels and the Horton Grand Theatre. Neither of these venues have been San Diego Comic-Con official areas before, so what could CCI be planning for this year? We’ll just have to wait and see. Here’s the text from the Toucan Blog:

Trust us … we’re not about to tell you what to wear to Comic-Con (besides your official Comic-Con T-shirt … click here to pre-order our 2014 shirts)! But you should keep in mind a couple of things: even though San Diego weather in late July ranges from warm to downright hot, the Convention Center and other official SDCC areas (the Marriott Marquis and Marina, the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, the Manchester Grand Hyatt, and the Omni San Diego hotels, plus the Horton Grand Theatre), can be chilly due to air conditioning. We recommend you bring along a light jacket, hoodie, or sweater, for your days inside Comic-Con’s various locations and nights outside, when San Diego tends to cool down a bit.
