Random House’s Knopf Doubleday group – comprised of Pantheon & Schocken Books, Alfred A. Knopf, Doubleday, and Vintage Anchor Books – will be returning to San Diego Comic-Con this year, with some of the world’s most beloved genre authors, as well as signings (TBA), and previews of upcoming works. Once the signing schedule is announced, we’ll be updating with that information.

The Knopf Doubleday group can be found at the Penguin Random House Booth #1520, where authors Chuck Palahniuk, Jason Blum, Kevin Keating, Marisa Acocella Marchetto, and Daniel H. Wilson will be appearing throughout the weekend.

You can also find most of the authors on panels throughout the weekend, including Kevin Keating on the Horror/Thriller panel on Thursday, July 9 at 4PM in Room 25ABC, Marisa Acocella Marchetto on the Science Fiction & Sex panel on Friday, July 10 at 11:30AM in Room 24ABC, and Daniel H. Wilson on the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Family Feud panel on Saturday, July 11 at 12PM in Room 7AB.

From the press release, here are the Knopf Doubleday authors that can be found at San Diego Comic-Con this year:

Jason Blum is an Emmy Award-winning producer who has ushered in a new dawn of horror with franchises like Paranormal Activity, The Purge, Insidious, and Sinister. Now he presents THE BLUMHOUSE BOOK OF NIGHTMARES: THE HAUNTED CITY (Doubleday, 7/7/2015) a stunning collection of original, terrifying fiction from a unique cast of 16 master storytellers including Eli Roth, Ethan Hawke, James DeMonaco, Mark Neveldine, Dana Stevens, Jeremy Slater, Scott Derrickson, and C. Robert Cargill. These provocative stories create the unforgettable cityscape for a new world of horror.

Kevin Keating has received starred reviews for THE CAPTIVE CONDITION (Pantheon Books, 7/7/2015), including this from Library Journal “A weird and wonderfully rendered universe . . . . A highly literary look at the faces of evil in almost all of its guises . . . . Oh, and many characters here are constantly high on psychedelic carrot juice.” Emulating a modern day Edgar Allan Poe, coupled with the creepy brilliance of HBO’s True Detective, THE CAPTIVE CONDITION is at once chilling, deliciously dark, and quirkily hilarious. As a boilermaker turned author, Kevin has a fascinating and unique take on thriller writing. Kevin appears on the Horror/Thriller panel on Thursday, July 9 at 4 pm (Room 25ABC).

Marisa Acocella Marchetto is the author of the critically acclaimed Cancer Vixen, and of her graphic novel debut, ANN TENNA (Alfred A. Knopf, 9/1/2015), Publishers Weekly hails “With art and writing in perfect harmony, Marchetto has crafted a warm romp of a story that’s a tribute to feminine fantasy and midlife transformation, with its heart worn boldly on a beautifully tailored sleeve.” Kirkus Reviews chimes in, calling ANN TENNA: “Zany with a touch of uplifting. You will be measurably hipper after reading it.”ANN TENNA, with full-color images throughout, is an incredibly fun, cosmic adventure about a gossip columnist in NYC who is brought face-to-face with her higher self, who challenges her to change her life for the better. Marisa appears on the Science Fiction & Sex panel on Friday, July 10 at 11:30 am (Room 24ABC).

Chuck Palahniuk is the New York Times bestselling author of 14 previous novels, including Fight Club, Choke, Diary, and Haunted.  His first short story collection, MAKE SOMETHING UP (Doubleday, 5/26/2015), was released in conjunction with the 10-comic series release of FIGHT CLUB 2 from Dark Horse Comics. FIGHT CLUB 2 is illustrated by Eisner Award winning artist Cameron Stewart and colored by award winning Dave Stewart. Each issue of the series will feature covers by bestselling artist David Mack.

Daniel H. Wilson is a New York Times bestselling author and coeditor of the Press Start to Play anthology. He earned a PhD in robotics from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where he also received master’s degrees in robotics and in machine learning. He has published more than a dozen scientific papers, holds four patents, and has written eight books. Wilson has written for Popular Science, Wired, and Discover, as well as online venues such as MSNBC.com, Gizmodo, Lightspeed, and Tor.com. In 2008, Wilson hosted The Works, a television series on the History Channel that uncovered the science behind everyday stuff. His books include How to Survive a Robot Uprising, A Boy and His Bot, Amped, and Robopocalypse (the film adaptation of which is slated to be directed by Steven Spielberg). His newest anthology, PRESS START TO PLAY (Vintage, 8/7/2015), is a collection of stories inspired by the world and culture of videogames. Daniel appears on the Sci-fi/Fantasy Family Feud panel on Saturday, July 11 at 12 pm (Room 7AB).
