Under the Tents: Felicia Day, Geek & Sundry, Lord Mesa, Ninjabot, BeefyPoo, NECA, and Geeky Hooker

It’s 125 days until San Diego Comic-Con – are you getting excited yet? Here in Under the Tents, we break down all the latest news tidbits for you, including word that Felicia Day and Geek & Sundry will be back (with what sounds like another offsite), news on where to find Ninjabot, the latest adorable crocheted critter from Geeky Hooker, and much more.

Here’s a look at the news you might have missed:

  • New York Times best-selling author as well as comic book artist and writer, Francesco Francavilla, posted on Twitter that he has no current plans to attend SDCC, but it doesn’t seem decided.  We have months until the convention, maybe things will change?

  • Lord Mesa, artist of absolutely adorable kiddified Marvel and DC prints, responded on Twitter that he will be returning to SDCC 2016.

  • About four minutes into a Felicia Day Rise of the Tomb Raider YouTube video, Day revealed that she will be attending Comic-Con 2016 with the following quote: “I’m only doing two things this year con-wise, guys. Literally only two. I am doing San Diego Comic-Con of course. Geek & Sundry, my company, has a party and event site every year there with the Nerdist…and Legendary. Very excited about that. Last year was a real big blast. So hopefully if you come down there…you don’t need a badge, so you can just come and hangout off-site.”
  • NECA Toys, an SDCC staple, responded to a question about them bringing figures from the Alien property to the con. They replied via Twitter that it is a secret until the event, but they will have Xenomorphs, no humans.

  • We had previously announced that our friends Ninjabot would be returning to Comic-Con, but they have tweeted that they can be found at booth L-08.  Now you know where to find their awesome prints!

  • Author of the Looking Glass Wars trilogy as well as the Hatter M books responded to an inquiry on Twitter that he will be attending San Diego Comic-Con.

  • Geeky Hooker is back at it again with another SDCC crocheted critter to show off and help the anticipation build in time for the big event.  This cutie is a zombie hipster.  This might be my worst fear!

  • The Underground Lightsaber Fighters in San Diego posted on their closed Facebook page that they will be having an event during SDCC. People interested should join the group for more information.
  • Jennifer Nolan, another geeky crocheter, has posted on her Instagram a cute creation and info that she can be found at SDCC 2016 at Booth #BB-22 in Artist Alley.

  • BeefyPoo posted a Comic-Con video on Instagram of a plushie preview.  Bmaxpoo looks like their take on Baymax and it even lights up!
  • The Loyal Subjects have reported on their site a program called the Super Double Diamond Club.  Limited to only 1,000 members at any given time, the membership costs $199.00 and comes with many perks listed, but most notable is “30% OFF ALL SDCC 2016 Exclusives.”
