WonderCon is just around the corner – and on Friday, we’ll have the full panel schedule, which always makes everything feel a lot more real. But until then, we’ve got some panel announcements already, as well as news of commission lists, items you can pick up at the convention, and much more.

Here’s a look at the news you might have missed:

  • Artist Mat Nastos is now taking commissions for WonderCon, with quick sketches starting at just $35. You can find more information, as well as more examples of his work, on Facebook.

  • Award-winning author of Updraft and Cloudbound, Fran Wilde, revealed on Twitter that she will be on a panel at WonderCon this year on Friday, March 31, as well as doing signings. More information to come.

  • But we know several things and people that will be holding panels at WonderCon, ahead of Friday’s full panel schedule release – including Geek & Sundry. The Talks Machina panel take place on Saturday, April 1 from 2PM-3PM.

  • The International Animated Film Association (ASIFA-Hollywood) will be in Booth #1711 on the show floor, where they’ll have information on memberships, upcoming events, screenings, and the Annie Awards. Additionally, you can find them on Friday, March 31 from 6:30PM-7:30PM in Room 21 for a panel on The Independent Animated Feature: Rewards and Challenges.
ASIFA-Hollywood
  • Author R.A. Salvatore will be at the convention on Saturday, April 1, where he’ll be signing autographs and appearing on a panel.

  • Finally, actress and producer Kylie Sparks will be at WonderCon on Friday, March 31 – before hopping over to BinderCon for the rest of the weekend.

  • Artist Scott Blair will haveStar Wars Splash Mountain piece available at WonderCon – perfect for the con’s first year back in Anaheim.

  • And her frequent partner in crime, James Silvani, has also opened commissions. Prices start at $80 per character in gray marker – and you can find information on how to request a commission on his Instagram.

  • You’re at WonderCon, and you’re starving – what’s a boy or girl to do? The 2 Baked Girls of KNEADY Bakery are taking pre-orders for their 2017 WonderCon Packages. For every box of delicious, nerdy goodies sold, KNEADY Bakery is donating $1 to Operation Smile, which is the same charity supported by NerdHQ, and a very worthy cause. They will stop taking orders on March 24. Order your Robert Brownie, Jrs while you can!

  • Not all heroes wear capes – and you can be one at WonderCon during the Robert A. Heinlein Blood Drive. Their hours are Friday, March 31 from 12PM-6:15PM, and Saturday, April 1 – Sunday, April 2 from 10AM until 4PM daily. You can schedule an appointment today, or make one on-site.
