IGN Partners with Twitter to Live-Stream San Diego Comic-Con Coverage

For those not attending San Diego Comic-Con, but who want in on the action – IGN Entertainment is partnering with Twitter to bring up to 13 hours of live coverage for the event.

IGN’s coverage will air Wednesday, July 19 – Sunday, July 22, and feature interviews from BBC, AMC, DC, Lionsgate, Marvel, Netflix, Starz, TBS and more, including live pre- and post-show commentary from IGN hosts and special guests – as well as trailers, behind-the-scenes fotoage, and more.

On Twitter, users will be able to interact with the coverage, asking questions and participating in polls.

“We’ll bring IGN’s live coverage of Comic-Con to our highly passionate comedy and entertainment fans alongside the real-time conversation on Twitter,”  Anthony Noto, COO at Twitter, said.

The live stream will be available globally at comiccon.twitter.com and on @IGN.

This essentially sounds like Comic-Con HQ last year – just potentially without the ability for attendees to come and watch. And while it’s interesting to note that IGN is promising interviews for Netflix and Lionsgate – last year, Lionsgate trotted out their stars for Power Rangers, but still didn’t hold a traditional Hall H panel. So take all of this with a grain of salt.

Still, if you can’t join in on the fun live, this is a decent alternative.
