The Originals will be getting a panel at San Diego Comic-Con – and in related news, water is wet.

Although The Vampire Diaries is over, the CW spin-off will still be headed to San Diego Comic-Con this year, writer Carina MacKenzie revealed on Twitter. This should come as no surprise to fans, as parent company Warner Bros. has a reputation for bringing everything even slightly genre-related to the convention, and The Originals has a long history of attending San Diego Comic-Con.

Although there’s no word yet on which cast members will be in attendance, last year’s panel included cast members Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin, Charles Michael Davis, Yusuf Gatewood and Riley Voelkel — along with executive producers Julie Plec and Michael Narducci. This year, we’d expect WB to bring along most of the cast again, as they offer up a preview for season five.
