What is SDCC without the artists and professionals who come every year? If not for them and their talent, we would just be 130,000 nerds gathered together in downtown San Diego. Those professionals are busy bringing their A-game to San Diego and have announced some great work.
Here’s a look at what you might have missed:
- At a signing event at IDW’s Comic Arts Gallery in San Diego on Friday, June 2, with creators Kevin Eastman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and Stan Sakai (Usagi Yojimbo), it was confirmed that the TMNT/Usagi one-shot coming from IDW in July will have a Comic-Con exclusive cover. Some art from the one-shot was on display at the gallery during the event:
- LEGO artist Dan Veesenmeyer tweeted that he has some very exciting SDCC news to share with us soon regarding his latest LEGO project.

- Maximum effort! Justin Harder is certainly putting that in when it comes to SDCC 2017. He tweeted some Wonder Woman prints he’s made, and when asked if they’ll be available at SDCC, he replied that he will have Wonder Woman prints there. They may or may not be these exact ones, but he will have something.
I absolutely will! Just can't decide which ones to print! I've got a few of 'em now. Which one would you like to see? https://t.co/6CwljawDZs

- It wouldn’t be Justin Harder without some Deadpool merch. Who doesn’t love a t-shirt? Wear your favorite Merc with a Mouth on his magical unicorn with pride. Find him at Small Press Table O-08.

- The ladies at Kymera Press have been working hard as well to get their latest issue of Pet Noir #3 ready for its big release at SDCC 2017. They posted a picture of the cover for us to admire.

- If the cover wasn’t enough to entice you, Kymera Press also released a before/after coloring panel from Pet Noir #3 to tickle our fancies.

- As if that weren’t enough, Kymera Press will also have a Spatz plushie available from their Pet Noir #3 issue. She may say, “ACKK!”, but she’s no Bill the Cat.

- Artist Jim Balent will be signing Jessica Scully’s Catwoman figurine at SDCC this year. Hopefully, his tears won’t smudge the ink on his signature.
I will be signing Jessica Scully's CATWOMAN figurine at San Diego Comic Con this year! (We will both be crying…it's what we do.) Jim

- Not all merch to be found at SDCC is made of plastic or vinyl. Neacol and Stanley Miller, the artists behind Bling Squared, prefer to work in glass. They shared an image of their Pippin and Sir Pippin glass figures as well as some of their milliplodes they’ll have available at SDCC this year.

- Sarah Jo Marks of DKE Toys teased a couple SDCC 2017 offerings recently. The first is clearly a work in progress, but it does look like Darth Vader as a Transformer. The second looks like a cybernetic (robot?) chicken.

- NECA Toys has told us that a limited number of their SDCC exclusives will be available online for non-attendees. They will go live with those exclusives on June 20. It sounds like unfortunately, NECA won’t be offering pre-order for those actually attending Comic-Con this year — but there’s still some time for them to change their minds.
it is looking like June 20th will be the date SDCC pre-orders for non-attendees go live at https://t.co/FZxRBFWMBi Full details next week!!

- It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s… Emma Swan? Maybe. Icon Heroes tweeted a tease of their next SDCC exclusive and covered it with Once upon a Time tags. We think this means it could be an Emma Swan action figure, but we’ll see what it really is at SDCC.
