Alex Ross Art San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Exclusives & Debuts [UPDATE July 17]

Renowned artist Alex Ross always brings his A-game to San Diego Comic-Con — as well as his exclusives to Alex Ross Art, the official art dealer of Alex Ross.

Alex Ross is giving away a free copy of his Limited Edition Sketchbook – signed by Alex Ross himself. All you have to do to enter is win is fill out your information here, and one winner will be notified on Sunday, July 22.

[UPDATE July 8]

Alex Ross’ Spider-Man: Character Model Print will be debuting at San Diego Comic-Con next week. The fine art mini-print lithograph features an illustration originally created as a variant cover for Amazing Spider-Man #1. It’s limited to just 100 pieces, and will retail for $35. Fans interested in purchasing the piece are highly encouraged to join the waitlist on the Alex Ross Art website.

[UPDATE July 6]

SYFY revealed that Alex Ross will be bringing a classic collage of a plethora of superhoes and supervillains in Absolute Justice: Battle, to San Diego Comic-Con. The 47 3/4″ x 32 1/2″ panoramic fine art giclee comes hand-numbered and personally signed by Alex Ross. It will premiere at San Diego Comic-Con, and be available for $1995 each.

[UPDATE June 29] 

Alex Ross has another San Diego Comic-Con exclusive fine art exclusive, Joker: Monster in the Making. The lithograph is signed by Alex Ross, and the artwork was originally reated for a limited edition comic series, “Batman Black and White Vol. 2.” It’s limited to only 100 pieces and will retail for $195. You can pick it up at the Alex Ross Art booth at San Diego Comic-Con. For those who can’t make it to the con, Alex Ross Art will offer a limited number available online. [UPDATE June 27 #2] The next Alex Ross San Diego Comic-Con debut was revealed today: Captain America: Patriot Signed Canvas. This fine art giclée, printed on Elegance Velvet Canvas, is limited to only 50 pieces and will retail for $825. You can pick it up at the Alex Ross Art booth at San Diego Comic-Con. For those who can’t make it to the con, Alex Ross Art will offer a limited number available online. [UPDATE June 27] ComicBook.com has the reveal on Alex Ross’ next San Diego Comic-Con exclusive: an official Alex Ross 2018 Sketchbook. This year, Ross will have two exclusive sketchbooks for the con, including an unsigned hardcover for $25 and a signed limited edition hardcover for $50.You can pick it up at the Alex Ross Art booth at San Diego Comic-Con. For those who can’t make it to the con, Alex Ross Art will offer a limited number available online starting on preview night, Wednesday, July 18.

[UPDATE June 25] Alex Ross isn’t finished yet! He will also have a Captain America: Ready for Battle Signed Lithograph. The lithograph, which is printed on fine art paper, is limited to only 100 pieces and will retail for $195. You can pick it up at the Alex Ross Art booth at San Diego Comic-Con. [UPDATE June 21] Legendary artist Alex Ross always comes to San Diego Comic-Con with some amazing exclusives, but Superman fans should be especially excited for today’s announcement.

We have your first look at a new piece from Alex Ross, called “Kal-El: The Last Son of Krypton. The illustration (a 16″x”20″ fine art giclée on paper) depicts a minimalist, expressive rendering of the Man of Steel. Hailing from the planet Krypton, Kal-El is orphaned after his planet is destroyed. With the destruction of all who inhabited his planet, Kal-El becomes the Last Son of Krypton.

It’s the second piece in this minimalist style, following Ross’ earlier “Wonder Woman: Goddess of Truth.”

Each print is elegantly presented with hand-deckled edges, and comes signed by Ross. Each piece is also hand-numbered, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity. “Kal-El: The Last Son of Krypton” will be making its premiere at San Diego Comic-Con this year, through Alex Ross Art – the official art dealer of Alex Ross.

You will be able to pick up the covers in a variety of packages, as well as having them either unsigned or signed with an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity. There will be a limited number of each available for pre-order on June 22 (some at a discounted price) and will ship on July 12. The 14 1/2″ x 15 1/2″ print features the iconic King of Wakanda in various positions, including an unmasked Panther, a crouching pose, and a tight headshot. The piece will retail for $50, nd is limited to 500 pieces. It will be available exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con, or you can join the waitlist for any leftover inventory on his site.

[UPDATE June 9] Alex Ross’ first San Diego Comic-Con exclusive for 2018 is Origins: Superman, a fine art matted lithograph based on the graphic novel Peace on Earth. Ross traces Superman’s origins in the piece, beginning with his birth, and then including scenes like Jor-El placing his son in a small rocket to launch him to safety, a scene with the Kents, and then Superman growing into his true self.

The 14 1/2″ x 15 1/2″ lithograph will retail for $50, and is limited to 500 pieces. It will be available exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con, or you can join the waitlist for any leftover inventory on his site.
