As has been the case since 2018, Harbor Drive will once again be closed to the general public and traffic beginning on Preview Night (Wednesday, July 23). While we’re still waiting on the map and general details, here are the dates and times that all traffic (which typically includes bikes, scooters, and skateboards as well as cars) will be closed, between First Avenue and Park Boulevard:
- Wednesday, July 23: 2pm-10pm
- Thursday, July 24: 7am-8pm
- Friday, July 25: 7am-9pm
- Saturday, July 26: 7am-9pm
- Sunday, July 27: 7am-7pm
Harbor Drive will reopen to traffic after the hours listed above, or earlier if deemed appropriate by public safety officials.
While not officially announced yet, the three main exceptions to this rule are again emergency vehicles, ADA drop-off and pick-up, and those who purchased parking for the convention center. In the past, those individuals will need to show their permit from the First Avenue side when entering after 7AM.
In addition, traditionally only badged members (attendees of Sa Diego Comic-Con) may access the front drive, stairs, and surrounding sidewalks of the San Diego Convention Center.Â
This is last year’s map, but it will likely be the same or similar. Note that the map in the Embarcadero Marina Park South is marked as a “Line Queueing Area” near the fishing pier. Comic-Con has previously used this area for line queueing as well. The Plaza Park where the tents are near Hall H is marked in blue as “Badged Members Only” (which is how it’s appeared in previous years on these maps).
