It’s nearly impossible to walk around San Diego Comic-Con without spotting a Jedi or a Stormtrooper, but this year, Star Wars‘ programming schedule at the convention feels a little more robust. StarWars.com revealed all of the Star Wars programing and panels to be found this summer, including Star Wars Rebels, Hasbro action figures, collectibles, and much more.
Notably absent from the list of Star Wars programing is anything mentioning Star Wars: Episode VII, with only this note offering any insight:
With Star Wars: Episode VII creators deep in production in anticipation of the film’s December 18, 2015, release, Lucasfilm will not be featuring the movie at SDCC.
While that definitely rules out a Star Wars: Episode VII panel, it doesn’t necessarily rule out a clip being played, or some other kind of teaser for the film happening during the convention.
Star Wars Rebels is now confirmed for a Comic-Con panel, set for Thursday at 6PM in Room 6BCF. Attendees will get a first look at Lucasfilm’s upcoming animated series, debuting this fall. Cast members Freddie Prinze Jr., Vanessa Marshall, Steve Blum, Tiya Sircar, and Taylor Gray, along with Executive Producers Dave Filoni and Simon Kinberg, will be on hand to discuss making the series, and will also show exclusive content from the show.
The following day will commence Star Wars Day, a full day of Star Wars programming in Room 7AB, starting at 10AM and running through 4PM. No matter what aspect of Star Wars you love, fans can find plenty of panels to keep their convention experience busy, with subjects ranging from “Star Wars Origami” to “Star Wars: A New Dawn”, a look at the planning and process of the book and a list of upcoming Star Wars novels from Del Rey.
Exclusives fans can choose from options like “Hasbro: Star Wars” at 12PM, as Hasbro director Jeff Labovitz and design manager Bill Rawley discuss Hasbro’s Star Wars line and offer upcoming, never-before-seen action figures from the new Star Wars Rebels series. Attendees can stick around after for the “Star Wars: Collectibles Update”, as eFX, Gentle Giant, Kotobukiya, and Sideshow Collectibles provide insight and previews into their Star Wars lines.
Fans can also find never-before-published art from early conceptional and deleted scenes of the original trilogy in “Star Wars Storyboards: The Original Trilogy”, and hear author Tony DiTerlizzi discuss Ralph McQuarrie’s original concept art later in the day in “Star Wars: The Adventures of Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight”.
