Breaking Down the Thursday San Diego Comic-Con 2024 Schedule – Major Rooms by Day

If you’re anything like us, you probably already have your Comic-Con schedule started (and if you don’t — why not?!). Especially with panels, though, it’s helpful to know what else is in the panel room, as sure, your panel might be a walk-in by itself — but what if something major is right after it? And remember at SDCC the rooms are not cleared after each panel.

1:00PM-2:00PM: Celebrating 25 Years of Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants – What’s funnier than 24? 25! Nickelodeon is celebrating SpongeBob SquarePants’ landmark 25th anniversary with a panel that will take fans down to Bikini Bottom and beyond for a special look at its iconic origins, including a live cast table read of “Help Wanted, exclusive content, and the nautical nonsense to come. Join the legendary voice cast Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton), along with executive producers Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller and special guests as they celebrate one of the most popular characters and beloved animated series of all time. It’s going to be the Best Day Ever! Moderator: Good Burgers’ Ed (Kel Mitchell).

2:15PM-3:15PM: Percy Jackson and the Olympians– Described by Entertainment Weekly as “a winning adaptation” and as “one of the strongest YA television outings” by Variety, the Disney+ hit original series Percy Jackson and the Olympians will make its debut at Comic-Con with an epic panel filled with behind-the-scenes stories and secrets from the set. Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth Chase), Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood), and Jonathan E. Steinberg (co-creator, executive producer) and Dan Shotz (executive producer) reflect on the triumphant first season, discuss bringing the iconic characters to life, answer burning questions during an exclusive fan Q&A session, and take a look back at moments from production and the global launch of the series. Whether you’re a mortal or a demigod, let’s celebrate all things Percy Jackson and the Olympians!

3:30PM-4:30PM: What We Do in the Shadows’ Farewell Tour Kick-Off– You are summoned to join America’s favorite vampire roommates as they kick off their farewell tour at Comic-Con! Join the cast and producers for a high-spirited conversation, and be among the first to see a brand-new episode from the sixth and final season. The first five seasons of the hit FX award-winning comedy are available to stream on Hulu. BAAAaaaaat!

11:15AM-12:15PM: Marvel Rivals: The Story, Art, and Sound of the Game– The Marvel Rivals panel gives an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the next great superhero shooter game. Get insights from the NetEase Games creative team, including Jinghua Duan (lead narrative designer), Dino Ma (art director), and Donger Gan (narrative designer), along with the Marvel Games creative team: Danny Koo (executive producer), Dakota Maysonet (creative development manager), and Dan LaDuca (senior art director) as they delve into the story, art, and sound design of the game. 12:30PM-1:30PM: Todd McFarlane Talks Spawn Movie, Comics, and More!Todd McFarlane gives an update on the Spawn movie, all upcoming comic projects, toys, and much more. Be the first with the inside scoop!

1:45PM-2:45PM: First Look at Peacock’s Horror-Thriller Series Teacup – Join executive producers James Wan and Ian McCulloch and stars Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman, and Chaske Spencer for an exclusive sneak peek at Peacock and Atomic Monster’s upcoming original horror series Teacup – a terrifying tale following a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive.

12:30PM-1:30PM: Can You Keep a Secret? Unveiling the Secrets of Skinwalker Ranch– Ever seen a UAP? Or witnessed something strange and unusual that you couldn’t explain? Join the experts from The History Channel’s hit series The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch, including the current ranch owner Brandon Fugal, for a panel discussing the motivations, inclinations, and secret findings taking place at one of the most infamous UAP and paranormal hotspots to ever exist. 3:00PM-4:00PM: The Groundlings Celebrate 50 Years of Laughs-For the last five decades, LA’s legendary comedy troupe The Groundlings has been a beacon of artistry and creativity and served as an incubator for some of Hollywood’s most prolific comedic talent and characters, including Pee-wee Herman and countless SNL and MadTV cast members. Hear from famous alumni, founders, and current members on how some of the most iconic characters have come to life, and get a look ahead at the next 50 years.

4:15PM-5:15PM: Joyful Distractions: Play and Fandom-Starlight Children’s Foundation and a surprise panelist explore how storytelling, imaginative play, gaming, and purposeful fandom bring joy and distraction to hospitalized kids. This panel explores how these activities shift focus from medical conditions to foster a sense of optimism and emotional well-being through engaging in therapeutic play, helping kids heal.

5:30PM-6:30PM: Unraveling the Time Traveler’s Paradox-Executive producer and co-star Felicia Day (The Guild, Supernatural), star Samuel Dunning (Dead Whisper, Blue Bloods), writer, director, and co-star Stimson Snead (Spirit: A Martian Story, Treat Street), executive producer Ben Yennie (I Am Lisa, Goodland), co-star David Babbitt (Amsterdam, The Darkness), and actor Nicole Murray (Death Perception) from the cast and crew of the new independent film Tim Travers and the Time Traveler’s Paradox chat about filmmaking, the industry, and science. 11:45AM-12:45PM: Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance and Silver Phantom Preview Panel-Actor and guest moderator Christopher Sean (Ultraman: Rising, Gotham Knights, Star Wars: Resistance) and Bandai Namco Film Works present a sneak peek and behind-the-scenes discussion of the highly anticipated Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance and Gundam: Silver Phantom. On stage are Naohiro Ogata (executive producer), Ken Iyadomi (producer), Gavin Hignight (writer and executive producer GVR), and Hiroaki Yura (audio director and animation producer GVR).

1:00PM-2:00PM: LEGO Ninjago: Dragons Rising Continues-The Ninjago: Dragon’s Rising team will discuss the current run of Dragon’s Rising, the upcoming 15th anniversary of Ninjago, and the future of Ninjago. They’ll take a deep dive into the evolution of the show from a writing and production perspective as well as offer insights about the characters from the voice actors themselves. Featuring Pamela Keller (LEGO/exec producer), Chris “Doc” Wyatt and Kevin Burke (head writers), Ryan Burns (LEGO/exec producer), Deven Mack (voice of Arin), and Sabrina Pitre (voice of Sora).

2:15PM-3:15PM: Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles -The series explores the pizza-loving heroes as they emerge from the sewers and onto the streets of NYC. Host, writer, podcaster and stand-up comedian Claire Lim will join the voices of Leo, Raph, Donnie, Mikey as well as series producers, for a big chat and never-before seen content.

3:30PM-4:30PM: AEW’s Rise Inside the Ring and Beyond-After record-setting attendance inside Wembley Stadium and their biggest year ever, All Elite Wrestling continues to rise from the seeds of a wrestling revolution sewn in 2019 to a powerhouse global phenomenon that’s now home to some of wrestling’s biggest names. This year Comic-Con will be the intersection of major announcements across different fandoms, including a DC Comics partnership and an Adult Swim on-the-ground brand integration. In celebration of their five-year anniversary, AEW stars Swerve Strickland, “Timeless” Toni Storm, Will Ospreay, Orange Cassidy, Britt Baker, and Darby Allin take you inside the ropes for an all-access look at the evolution from a renegade upstart to one of the most watched weekly programs on television.

4:45PM-5:45PM: Jonathan Frakes unveils Arthur C. Clarke’s Venus Prime TV Series – Expected to Appear: Director and Executive Producer Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, The Librarians), co-showrunners David Cormican (Tokyo Trial, Northern Rescue, ShadowHunters) and Dwayne Hill (Northern Rescue, Peg + Cat, Mean Girls), along with Executive Producers Lucas Vivo Garcia Lagos (Franklin historia de un billete, Pacto de Sangre, Psiconautas), and Christopher Rush-Harrington (Hostile Takeover, King of Killers) of Volume Global. 6:00PM-7:00PM: Haunted Discoveries: First Look into Seasons 3 & 4-The cast of Haunted Discoveries teases the stunning, bone-chilling finds from the upcoming seasons. They will discuss the paranormal research and methodologies used to catalog the astounding evidence gathered so far. Featuring Dr. Harry Kloor (world-renowned scientist and Star Trek writer), Brandon Alvis (lead in Ghost Hunters; director, producer, editor), Mustafa Gatollari (lead in Ghost Hunters; producer), Kevin Otte (producer), and Craig Owens (historian/author). Exclusive, never-before-seen clips will be shown.

7:15PM-8:15PM: Worst Cartoons Ever– Making its 19th appearance at San Diego Comic-Con, esteemed animation historian Jerry Beck (CartoonResearch.com) and ASIFA-Hollywood will once again foist a selection of the most terribly written, ugliest drawn, and unintentionally funniest animated films ever made. Cartoons include Con favorites “Mighty Mr. Titan” (the physical fitness superhero in his formfitting costume a little too tight for comfort) and “Johnny Cypher In Dimension Zero” (worst. anime. ever.). Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

10:00AM-11:00AM: Ronda Rousey’s Comic Debut with AWA- Be treated to an action-packed, candid conversation between UFC and WWE champion, former Judoka, and actress Ronda Rousey and actor/producer and former WWE superstar Dave Bautista as they discuss Ronda’s debut graphic novel Expecting the Unexpected and their journeys after stepping out of the ring. Eisner Award–winning artist Mike Deodato, Jr., and AWA chief creative officer Axel Alonso will also join in to celebrate the book’s Kickstarter launch and the innovative creative process behind this powerful project.

11:15AM-12:15PM: Mattel WWE Elite Squad Panel– The Mattel WWE Elite Squad defends their title again as the Action Figure champions of Comic-Con with all-new WWE action figure reveals and WWE Superstar guests. Featuring the Mattel Design team and WWE Superstars.

12:30PM-1:30PM: Malcolm and Friends- Actor/comedian Malcolm Barrett (Timeless, Average Joe, The Changeling) invites his nerdiest industry friends to discuss nerd culture and their unique entry into Hollywood. Panelists include Jessie T. Usher (The Boys, Shaft), Claudia Doumit (Timeless, The Boys), Jay Washington (actor, comedian, wrestler), Dani Fernandez (writer/actor, Ralph Breaks the Internet), Fantastic Frankey (digital creator), and Khleo Thomas.

1:45PM-2:45PM: Unveiling the VFX Magic: 20th Century Studios’ Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes– Delve into the technical and human elements that created the visual effects masterpiece – Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes with some of the best VFX talent in the business. Lead cast members Freya Allen (The Witcher), Kevin Durand (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Strain), Owen Teague (It, It Chapter Two, The Stand), and Peter Macon (The Orville, Family Guy) alongside Halon Entertainment visualization supervisor Casey Pyke (The Batman, The Suicide Squad), Wētā FX visual effects supervisor Erik Winquist (Avatar, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), and one of the film’s editors, Dan Zimmerman (The Christmas Chronicles, The Maze Runner franchise), as well as some very special surprise panelists unveil the VFX magic behind the majestic beasts and battles in bringing director Wes Ball’s vision to life. 20th Century Studios’ Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is Certified-Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and is now available via digital retailers (Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home), and arrives on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD on August 27.

3:00PM-4:00PM: What’s New at VIZ– Get ready for some big anime and manga announcements! Plus, David Brothers (VIZ editor) joins Sven Larsen (VP, licensed publishing, Marvel) for a VIZ X Marvel-themed Q&A! Then Rem (illustrator of Devil’s Candy) will do a live drawing and Q&A. 4:15PM-5:15PM: 85 Years of Batman: A Look Back with ProfessionalsJessica Tseang (Eisner judge 2022, international comics historian), Mark Waid (writer DC Comics, Kingdom Come, World’s Finest, Eisner winner), Michael Uslan (executive producer Batman (1989), The Dark Knight Trilogy, The Batman: Part 2, Joker: Folie A Deux), Athena Finger (Bill Finger-co-creator of Batman, legacy estate), and more, as they discuss being a significant part of Batman’s history, and dive into what has made The Dark Knight stand out among other superheroes for over eight decades.

5:30PM-6:30PM: True Noir– Witness the next leap in the evolution of audio dramas when Imagination Connoisseurs Unlimited, LLC introduces their debut project, The Assassination of Anton Cermak: True Noir, based on Max Allan Collins’ (Road to Perdition) best-selling novel True Detective. Set in 1932 Chicago, the 10-episode series explores the murder of the city’s mayor during a political rally at the World’s Fair. True Noir is the brainchild of longtime marketing executive Mike Bawden and industry veteran Robert Meyer Burnett (Free Enterprise, The Hills Run Red), who will moderate a panel that features actors Anthony LaPaglia (Without a Trace, Happy Feet, All-Star Superman), Don McManus (Vice, Ocean’s Thirteen), Bill Smitrovich (Air Force One, Ted), Louis Lombardi (24, The Sopranos), Kris Carr (Last Week tonight with John Oliver), and a few potential surprise guests.

6:45PM-7:45PM: Sci-Fi, Space, and the Universe– Award-winning creatives, actors, and experts discuss some of their favorite sci-fi series and films, including the latest knowledge of space and the universe as sci-fi is quickly becoming sci-fact. 8:00PM-10:30PM: The 27th Annual San Diego Comic-Con Superhero Kung Fu Extravaganza– Join Sifu Santa Ric Meyers (Action Film Autopsy), master remaster Frank Djeng (Enter the Clones of Bruce), fan king supreme Preston Downey (That Phat Samurai Guy), and an amazing array of other panelists for the most incredible international fight scenes, stunning sneak peeks, and wonderful world premieres of the year.
