A bunch of speculated movies are now confirmed to be at SDCC as the New York Times just released a story that includes mentions of many films that will be at the con.
The major new one that they talk about is The Expendables, which is a testosterone-infused action flick whose cast includes Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Jason Statham, and Eric Roberts. The interesting questions now becomes what stars will attend the panel and if Lionsgate will also hold a screening since the film is released on August 13th.
Other movies that the article confirmed will have a presence are Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Green Lantern, Sucker Punch, Megamind, and Battle: Los Angeles.
Also, in a recent interview with USA Today, Adam Scott revealed that Piranha 3D will have a panel at the convention and he will be a part of it. Much like The Expendables, Piranha has an August release date so a screening could be a possibility.
Pirahna 3D and The Expendables might not fit into the mold of Sci-Fi and Fantasy genres that SDCC holds dear, but as the con’s variety of movies continues to grow, they could be welcome additions to this year’s line-up. Do you plan to attend either panel?
