Mattel Announces SDCC Booth Events, Signings

Mattel is familiar to Comic-Con attendees because of its popular lineup of SDCC exclusives available at the MattyCollector booth each year. But if you’re a first-timer to the convention, you should know that Mattel has it’s own booth on the exhibit floor, and has just announced the line-up of events, signings and more going on next week.

First, Mattel is giving She-Ra a big promotional push this year by holding the “Show Us Your She-Ra®” cosplay contest. From Thursday July 24 to Saturday July 26, stop by the Mattel booth, #3029, between 10am and 4pm dressed as “any version of She-Ra, The Princess of Power”. Cosplayers will be judged and winners will be awarded in three categories:

Best Female Overall
Best Male Overall
Most Creative

Wait, what’s the difference between “Best Male Overall” and “Most Creative”?

Winners will be announced after the convention on MattyCollector.com, and the winners will receive a 2015 Club Eternia® subscription valued at $570.

In addition to the contest running throughout the weekend, the autograph area in the Mattel booth has tons of signings and events scheduled.

The area will be “decked out with special photo ops, displays, interactive moments and décor of WWE’s Slam City” on Thursday, with WWE® Superstars Hulk Hogan and Daniel Bryan making an appearance for a signing at noon. Friday will have a signing with WWE® Superstar Big E! at 11am; as well as signings with the creative teams from Monster High, Max Steel, Ever After High and Four Horseman throughout the day. Signings resume on Sunday with another Monster High session, as well as a Minecraft signing with IHasCupquake.

Plus be there to hear the latest news on the future of MOTU Classics! As we enter the final year of MOTUC, we’ll complete the vintage toy line characters rendered in Classics styling.
