Now Comic-Con is playing with POWER!
Nintendo Power, that is. And good news for fans, as the always-awesome Nintendo Gaming Lounge will return to the Marriott Marquis & Marina during SDCC, announced via a press release this morning.
Last year the Lounge was full of upcoming, playable Wii U and 3DS titles fans could get their hands on, as well as other fun events such as photo opportunities with Nintendo characters, prizes, and even an interactive virtual Mario and Luigi. You can see for yourself in the video from last year, below:
The first of this year’s events was also announced, a Super Smash Bros. tournament on the 3DS, taking place on Friday July 25 at noon. And if you can’t make it to San Diego to watch in-person, the tournament will be streamed online via Nintendo’s Twitch channel.
Other Gaming Lounge activities will be announced in the future, so we’ll update as soon as we hear. Check out the press release below for all the details on the Super Smash Bros. tournament:

Nintendo News: Challengers Wanted for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS Tournament at San Diego Comic-Con
REDMOND, Wash. — Nintendo will be hosting its first-ever tournament for the Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS game at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25. Fans are invited to come to the Nintendo Gaming Lounge at the Marriott Marquis & Marina located at 333 W. Harbor Drive (adjacent to the San Diego Convention Center) for a chance to participate.
Starting at noon, there will be a preliminary round in which groups of four competitors battle it out, with the winner advancing. During the finals, players will duke it out one-on-one to determine the top smasher. Tournament slots are limited, and fans will be able to sign up the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis.
For fans not able to attend San Diego Comic-Con, tournament action will be streamed live on Nintendo’s Twitch channel at http://www.twitch.tv/Nintendo. Additional Nintendo Gaming Lounge activities will be announced in the future.
