We are closing in on San Diego Comic-Con 2015 and each day brings us one step closer to all the awesome geeky action that Comic-Con brings with it. It’s time to make preparations, lists and plan those schedules. In fact Comic-Con International should be posting the official schedule later this week. Yes, the time for tackling those con spreadsheets is now.
One of the things that can often be forgotten in the shuffle of spreadsheets and lists, is planning transportation. For those with accommodation adjacent to the Convention Center, this is obviously not an issue. Your trusty con sneakers will guide you to the promised land.
However, for those with accommodations outside the immediate vicinity of the Gaslamp, alternative transportation to and from the convention center becomes an additional necessary preparation plan. So how will you get to where you need to go?
On June 9 Comic-Con International finally revealed the 2015 shuttle map and schedule. In the past CCI has offered this shuttle service to those who have booked hotel rooms a little out of the way and it is a great resource for those on the shuttle route. However for those who have accommodation outside of the shuttle route, such as across the bay in beautiful Coronado, this schedule will not be a needed resource.
Instead, travel by ferry or car across the Coronado Bridge will be the options available to you. Luckily, Flagship Cruises & Events, the company that runs the ferry service, have recently posted a downloadable PDF schedule for their SDCC 2015 landing and departure times.
If you plan on using the Ferry this information will be a helpful service to you. Ferry tickets can be purchased at the Broadway Pier, 5th Ave landing or Coronado ferry landing for $4.75 per person each way. Children under 4 are free. A quick look at the ferry departure times can be found below. The schedule will be effective from July 9 to July 12, 2015.
