Report: San Diego Comic-Con to Turn Into a ‘Sausage Party’

San Diego Comic-Con may be about to turn into a Sausage Party.

While we’ve heard rumblings of a screening for the upcoming Sausage Party at Comic-Con (and you have too, if you listened to our podcast with io9’s Germain Lussier), Seth Rogen just gave a big tease on Twitter last night that attendees will indeed be getting a special early release of the film.

The upcoming R-rated animated comedy, which was co-written by Rogen, follows one sausage’s quest to discover the truth about his existence (and his horror to learn that being chosen at the grocery store doesn’t actually end all of that well).

It features a slew of voice talent, including Rogen, Kristen Wiig, James Franco, Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, Edward Norton, Michael Cera, Salma Hayek, and many more. No word yet on if any of the cast or crew will be in attendance for the screening, but we’d put our money on at least Rogen turning up to the affair.

Sausage Party releases nation-wide on August 12, so Comic-Con attendees would be getting an early look at the film. For now, here’s the trailer:
