Bluefin Tamashii Nations has been a staple of the collectible community at SDCC for years with its highly detailed statues and imported figurines — which you’ll be able to pick up at Booth #3545.
Last year saw a new system for purchasing Bluefin Tamashii exclusives, where on Preview Night, attendees only (no exhibitors) were allowed to purchase on a first come/first serve basis. Then Thursday-Sunday, attendees could either use a “fast-pass” ticketed system, where Bluefin Tamashii distributed tickets and an order form between 10AM-12PM with designated times to return — or attendees could choose to wait it out in line. No word yet on this year’s system, but we’ll update when we know more.
From Comic-Con International, here’s a look at this year’s exclusives:
Bandai Meisho Movie Realization Ronin Boba Fett Prototype ($95.00): Boba Fett is back! This time the galaxy’s most fearsome bounty hunter comes wearing feudal Japan stylized armor based on the Star Wars white-colored prototype armor seen in both Ralph McQuarrie’s original concept sketches of the character, and test footage filmed by The Empire Strikes Back art director Joe Johnston. With a Ronin-inspired design by artist Takayuki Takeya, the fully articulated Boba Fett figure stands 170mm tall and features a moveable head scope, detachable mounted armaments, backpack with removable missile, and an arsenal of weaponry to expand your display possibilities. The set includes a blaster rifle, Japanese sword set, weapons set, and interchangeable hands (x4). This exclusive item will see very limited release. Limit 2 per person.
Bandai Tamashii Nations S.H.Figuarts Goku Kaiohken Ver. ($65.00): Kaiohken! Goku powers up in this special limited variant that features uniquely colored clothing, special Tamashii Effect and Kamehameha energy blast! Feel the energy surging through Goku’s body with interchangeable hands, facial expressions, and the great range of articulation and style that S.H. Figuarts is known for! This version includes special SDCC themed packaging to match previous SDCC S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball items.
Will you be picking up any of these exclusives at the Bluefin Tamashii Nations booth? Let us know in the comments!
