‘Shazam!’ Director David F. Sandberg Hints at San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Appearance

Warner Bros.’ San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Hall H appearance is (unsurprisingly) shaping up to be very heavily focused on their upcoming DC slate. Last week, we learned that the Aquaman trailer will be making its debut at Comic-Con this year – and then earlier this week, we heard rumblings of a “surprise” appearance that Gal Gadot will also be making an appearance, to offer fans some sort of first look at Wonder Woman 1984.

Now, Shazam! director David F. Sandberg has all but confirmed he’ll be attending Comic-Con this year, tweeting a photo of the Comic-Con International logo with a cartoon of himself yelling, “Hurry up and get here!!!”

There have been rumors circulating for weeks that in addition to getting the first trailer for Aquaman, Comic-Con attendees would also be treated to the first trailer for Shazam!. Warner Bros. always goes big at San Diego Comic-Con, so it certainly makes sense.

Shazam!, based on the DC comics, is the story of a 14-year-old boy named Billy Batson who is granted the powers of six ancient heroes by a dying wizard, which he activates by saying the wizard’s name, “Shazam!”. When he does, he’s transformed into an adult superhero – played by Comic-Con darling Zachary Levi.
