[UPDATE #2] We know you’ve been waiting for news of how to get into Kohei Horikoshi’s signings at the VIZ Media Booth – and now we have your answers. Kohei Horikoshi will be signing on both Saturday and Sunday of the convention, but you’ll need to get a ticket first thing in the morning at the VIZ Media booth #2813. Here’s the signing schedule:
[UPDATE] VIZ Media has shared a few more details about Kohei Horikoshi’s San Diego Comic-Con plans — including how you can be involved. VIZ will be bringing a San Diego Comic-Con 2018 exclusive edition of My Hero Academia, Vol. 1 to the convention, but even those at home have a chance to get their hands on it.
Fans are encouraged to create a short video under 30 seconds explaining your Quirk (which can be anything from sleeping all day to “throwing hot dogs really far”). Then simply upload your video to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with the hashtag #WhatsYourQuirk. The top ten favorites of VIZ’s staff will be shown to Horikoshi, who will then select his top three to show them during his panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Those three winners will also receive an autographed edition of the SDCC exclusive My Hero Academia, Vol. 1. You can read more about the contest on VIZ’s blog.
[PREVIOUS] VIZ Media are always one of our favorite vendors at San Diego Comic-Con – whether it’s their free bags at their booth, amazing panels, or cool merch, they just seem to “get it”. But this year, they’ve got something extra special up their sleeves.
VIZ Media will be welcoming My Hero Academia creator Kohei Horikoshi for his first-ever North American professional appearance at San Diego Comic-Con.
My Hero Academia fans will be able to find Horikoshi all over the convention, with panel appearances already planned for an official My Hero Academia panel. The panel will also include voice actors Christopher R. Sabat (voice of All Might) and Justin Briner (voice of Deku) from the anime adaptation of the popular series. Horikoshi will also be a part of VIZ Media’s Weekly Shonen Jump panel.
A pair of autograph sessions are also scheduled to take place during the show, with times and additional information announced soon.
