2019 has so many huge anniversaries — not least of all, San Diego Comic-Con’s 50th. But one of the big ones is for your favorite sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea, SpongeBob SquarePants, who is celebrating his 20th anniversary this year.

Nickelodeon has a big birthday bonanza planned for San Diego Comic-Con, which includes a poster featuring all 760 characters and creatures who have appeared on the series over the last 20 years. Some lucky fans will be able to get the poster signed at Booth #4113 next month, during a SpongeBob SquarePants signing in the 1,800-square-foot space.

Additionally, Nickelodeon will be holding a SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout panel during the convention, SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout!, which features co-executive producers Vincent Waller and Marc Ceccarelli, as well as voices actors Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Mr. Lawrence (Plankton) and Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs) to discuss 20 years of history.

You’ll also find all kinds of SpongeBob activities at the booth all week long, including a Krusty Krab interactive game (where fans will go head to head to complete food orders in a race against the clock), a Mrs. Puff’s Boating School photo opportunity, a 22-foot-tall Chum Bucket, as well as Nickelodeon merch like Bikini Bottoms shirts, exclusives, customized t-shirts, and more.

Nickelodeon will also be hosting a 35th anniversary panel for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, featuring co-creator Kevin Eastman, executive producers Andy Suriano, Ant Ward, and Ciro Neli.

SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout!
Drop on the deck and flop like a fish because Nickelodeon is celebrating 20 years of SpongeBob SquarePants! Dive deep down into the making of the brand-new special, “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout!” with co-executive producers Vincent Waller and Marc Ceccarelli. Voice actors Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Mr. Lawrence (Plankton) and Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs) will discuss what it was like to portray their characters in front of the camera for the first time in this live action-animation hybrid special. To Shell and Back: An exclusive TMNT creator panel
It’s creator COWABUNGA time! Three generations of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles creators will take the stage to celebrate the history, fandom, and success of the Heroes in a Half -Shell. This exclusive history-making event will give fans rare access to co-executive producers Andy Suriano and Ant Ward (Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), executive producer Ciro Nieli (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), and legendary TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman. United for the first time, these award-winning creators will answer fan questions, share audience giveaways and unveil never-before-seen original TMNT art. Moderated by Mike Cecchini (Den of Geek).
