Mattel San Diego Comic-Con 2021 Exclusives [UPDATE July 25]

Mattel have plenty of fun surprises planned for you for Comic-Con@Home, from brands like Jurassic World, WWE, Pixar, Masters of the Universe, and more.

This year’s exclusives will be available on Mattel Creations on Thursday, July 22 at 9AM PT.

Now let’s take a look at this year’s exclusives:

[UPDATE July 25]

We spotted this Mattel Creations announcement the other day, but didn’t think it was truly a SDCC exclusive — however, Mattel has it listed that way on their website, so… whoops for us. Mattel has announced a Bad Robot Premium Action Figure, based on the iconic logo from the production company Bad Robot (co-led by J.J. Abrams, and responsible for many of your favorite TV shows, movies, and more). The figure includes 24 points of articulation, diecast and plastic construction, and a premium finish. The 7.25″ tall figure is available now for $100.

[UPDATE July 16 – #2]

By the power of Grayskull! Today it’s all about Masters of the Universe, with three new reveals across Mattel’s Hot Wheels, Mega, and Masterverse brands.

First is the most fiercesome (and adorable) creatures you’ve ever seen, a MEGA Collabs Masters of the Universe Battle Labbit. Frank Kozik’s popular Labbit creation gets a MOTU makeover in this new collaboration, as Mattel unleashes this buildable Battle Labbit based on Battle Cat as it will appear in the upcoming Masters of the Universe: Relevation animated reboot.

Get it for $50 on Mattel Creations on Thursday, July 22 at 9AM PT.

Next, Mattel is scaring up another Comic-Con@Home exclusive with their Masters of the Universe Masterverse Revelation Scare Glow Action Figure. This exclusive edition of Scare Glow, the skeletal ghost warrior whose loyalties are to the evil Skeletor, is highly articulated with 30 working joints that make it perfect for battle and power posing. The figure comes with a posable cape and scythe of doom, as well as extra hands. It’s all packaged in special LED packaging that includes purple and white lights to better display the glow-in-the-dark effect.

Get it for $35 on Mattel Creations on Thursday, July 22 at 9AM PT.

Then it’s throwback (and throwdown) time as Mattel looks back at the classic 1980’s iteration of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, with this Hot Wheels Masters of the Universe Wind Raider vs Land Shark set. You can recreate your favorite childhood epic rivalry between He-Man and Skeletor in this two-piece set, which sees He-Man riding in a highly-detailed Wind Raider (which sports the original signature olive-green hull, dark yellow wings, and skull deco) and Skeletor cruising along in the Land Shark (a fuschia shark with mounted weapons on the back). It all comes packaged in vintage-inspired window box packaging with insert.

[UPDATE July 16 – #1]

Mattel has one more Hot Wheels exclusive for you — and this time it’s the Merc with a Mouth. Mattel will be unleashing a Comic-Con@Home Hot Wheels Marvel Deadpool Birthday Scooter, which celebrates 30 years of crimefighting, sarcasm, and fourth wall breaks. The scooter is the replica of the one features in the films, and features Deadpool at the helm. It comes in unique packaging that doubles as a display case.

Get it for $25 on Mattel Creations on Thursday, July 22 at 9AM PT.

[UPDATE July 15]

There are two new Mattel Comic-Con exclusive reveals this morning, all from Hot Wheels, and Action Figure Insider has the scoop. Up first is a Hot Wheels Batman 1st Appearance Batmobile, which celebrates the 80th anniversary of the first comic book appearance of Batman’s iconic vehicle. Batman is behind the wheel with his Robin riding alongside. It even comes in collectible packaging that reproduces the comic title from Detective Comics #27.

Get it for $20 on Mattel Creations on Thursday, July 22 at 9AM PT.

Then, we switch gears for a Hot Wheels Star Wars Green Darth Vader Character Car. Based on the iconic Star Wars #1 comic book cover that features the super villain in green, this car will transport your imagination to a galaxy far, far away. It comes in special packaging that further highlights the comic book cover and arrives in a shipper box. Get it for $20 on Mattel Creations on Thursday, July 22 at 9AM PT.

[UPDATE July 14]

Adventure is out there, and it’s also in Mattel’s latest Comic-Con@Home exclusive. This Pixar Up Kevin & Babies Pack features that most elusive tropical bird, Kevin, and three babies. The figure was designed with insight from one of the character designers, Alberto Lozano, and features movable joints and authentic design. As an added bonus, you’ll not only also get Kevin’s three offspring, but also a chocolate bar stolen from Russell.

The entire set comes packaged in a deluxe window box, with a reversible background and collectable concept art card with an additional fun fact from the creators. You can try to capture it for yourself for $40 on Mattel Creations on Thursday, July 22 at 9AM PT.

[UPDATE July 13]

Hold onto your butts! Action Figure Insider has the details on a new Mattel Comic-Con@Home exclusive, and it’s got teeth (and claws). This Jurassic Park Final Scene Ray Arnold set imagines a moment we never actually saw with our own eyes in the film. Chief Engineer John Raymond ‘Ray’ Arnold (Samuel L. Jackson) headed to the maintenance shed to reboot the power, but somewhere between then and when we next saw him, a Velociraptor stole something important from him — his arm.

The two-pack set features a 3.75″ Ray Arnold figure with removable arm, as well as a 2.4″ tall and 7″ long Velociraptor. The set includes the maintenance shed setting which includes sounds and lights, as well as packaging reflecting the setting of the scene. You can grab it for $25 available on Mattel Creations on Thursday, July 22 at 9AM PT.

[UPDATE July 12]

Action Figure Insider has the scoop on Mattel’s first Comic-Con@Home exclusive, a WWE Ultimate Edition Sgt. Slaughter. Stand at attention (and that’s an order!) for this 6″ figure of the famous WWF Championship winner, also known as Robert Remus.

The figure comes in nostalgic packaging that will transport fans back to the 80’s golden era of WWE. Sgt. Slaughter features TrueFX life-like detailing and more than 30 points of articulation to better recreate all of his fighting poses, and comes equipped with an extra head, swappable hands, and authentic entrance gear.

He will retail for $35 and be available on Mattel Creations on Thursday, July 22 at 9AM PT.
