Gundam fans have long been hoping for a Gundam Base installation to come to North America, and the time is now — or rather, the time is November 26-28, at Comic-Con Special Edition.
The Bandai Hobby department of Bandai Namco Collectibles (Bluefin) is bringing The Gundam Base to CCSE later this month, which will mark the first-ever Gundam Base installation outside of Asia. The pop-up, which can be found on the exhibit floor at Booth #1805, will recreate elements from The Gundam Base Tokyo and The Gundam Base Fukuoka flagship stores in Japan.
CCSE attendees will be able to stop by to check out the showcase of more than 150 different GUNPLA model kits including event exclusives, The Gundam Base exclusives, and Gundam Factory Yokohama exclusives.
Here’s a look at some of the exclusives that will be available:
Gundam Base MG Epyon (EW)
Gundam Base MG Gunner Zaku Warrior
Gundam Base MG RX-78-2 Gundam Ver. 3.0
Gundam Factory RX-78F00 Gundam Bust Model
Fans will also be able to snap selfies in front of GUNPLA displays throughout the base. Twitch star Mecha Maiden will be the official host for the event.
And if that’s not enough Bandai goodness for you — Bandai Hobby will also be hosting a Pop-Up store from Friday, November 12 – Friday, December 31 at Tokyo Central & Main (8111 Balboa Ave), about a 15 to 20 minute drive from the Gaslamp. While not officially part of the convention, this pop-up store will see more than 100 exclusives, promotional and limited items, and more.
