Under the Dinner Table: Funko, Patrick Ballesteros, Adalisa Zarate, Monkey Minion

Grab your best stretchy pants from the dryer, because we are about to feast on this cornucopia of Comic-Con Special Edition news. This edition has scrumptious morsels from Funko, Patrick Ballesteros, Monkey Minion, and a lot more for dessert.

Here’s a look at what you might have missed:

  • The San Diego Blood Bank will be on-hand as usual at the Marriott Marina conducting their blood drive. Participants will receive a free CCSE sweatshirt.

  • One of our favorite artists, Henry Liao, will have some adorable new plushies and pins at Table #DD-30 in Artists’ Alley.
  • Thanks to an opportune change in schedule, WCG Comics announced on their Twitter feed that they will, in fact, be at CCSE this weekend at their usual spot in Small Press, Booth K-1.

  • Let sports artist S. Preston take you to a whole new world of baseball fandom with his Padres Jasmine fan art piece. Look for it at Table B-24 in Artists’ Alley.

  • Does our good friend Patrick Ballesteros ever do commissions for his framed minis? He does not, because each one is an original, one-of-a-kind piece on its own. Visit Table CC-30 in Artists’ Alley to dip into his particular box of chocolates. You really do never know what you’re gonna get.

  • Are you a true Funko Funatic? The toy and collectible company is giving CCSE attendees a chance to prove their Funaticism by auditioning for their new game show, Pop! Quiz, premiering in 2022.

  • If you were planning on attending the X-Reads Podcast panel in Room 8 on Friday, November 8 at 3:30PM PT, you’ll walk away with this amazing Kurt Wagner… er, Nightcrawler print by comic illustrator Bob Q!

  • Do you smell that? Something… fowl? Wrath of Comics’ Comic-Con Special Edition Exclusive variant of their humor anthology, Someone is Grilling the Chicken, is on sale now at their website. Limited to a release of only 100 copies, each comes with its own Certificate of Authenticity. Whether you order it mild, medium, or hot, it won’t ship until November 29, after the con.

  • Find Richard H. Dent at his booth in Artists’ Alley, II-14, if you’d like him to sign your copy of Myopia for you.

  • Super talented artist Adalisa Zarate has some great deals at Table DD-42. If you buy something from her table, she has a free surprise sticker for you. Not only that, if you get a picture with her mascot, Murphy, The Traveling Goat, you get yet another surprise free sticker.

  • I haven’t seen a case of Pac-Man Fever this bad since we had our tube socks all the way up to our knees back in 1982. Swing by Bluefin’s Booth 2218 for a chance to win your own Arcade1Up Pac-Man video game machine. Can’t get to CCSE? Bluefin has you covered; you can enter through their website here, too.

  • I refuse to believe that Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, is celebrating her 40th anniversary of bringing us the kitschiest horror movies ever made; however, if you’re not in denial about your age like I am, swing by Kreepsville 666’s Booth #1219 to find Elvira pins and t-shirts to commemorate the occasion.

  • In case you didn’t think Comic-Con was weird enough already, Hero Within’s CCSE exclusive pin is a reminder to keep it that way.
