It has long been tradition for Friday night at San Diego Comic-Con (traditionally in Ballroom 20) to be taken over by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment for the premiere of their latest WB/DC animated film — and we’re excited that 2022 looks like that streak will continue.
John Semper Jr., the co-writer on the new film Green Lantern: Beware My Power, answered a fan on Twitter that the animated feature will be premiering at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 22, ahead of its release date on Tuesday, July 26.

The film will follow recently discharged Marine sniper John Stewart, who is at a crossroads in his life already when he receives an extraterrestrial ring granting him the powers of the Green Lantern of Earth. When interplanetary killers bent on eliminating every Green Lantern in the universe arrive, he must seek the aid of the light-hearted Green Arrow, Adam Strange, and Hawkgirl.
Traditionally, Friday night at San Diego Comic-Con involves a screening of the film as well as a panel with voice cast. This year’s panelists have not yet been named, but the voice cast includes Aldis Hodge (John Stewart/Green Lantern), Jimmi Simpson (Oliver Queen/Green Arrow), Ike Amadi (J’onn J’onzz/Martian Manhunter), Brian Bloom (Adam Strange), and Jamie Gray Hyder (Hawkgirl).
