There are new details about the upcoming House of the Dragon panel at San Diego Comic-Con. The series, which is a prequel to Game of Thrones, will get a Hall H panel with Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Graham McTavish, Milly Alcock and Emily Carey. Also appearing on the panel will be George R.R. Martin, along with co-showrunners Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, and moderator podcast host Jason Concepcion.
Fans have long loved HBO’s Game of Thrones offsites, and this year they’ll be transported into a Targaryen-ruled Westeros with the immersive experience “House of the Dragon: The Dragon’s Den.”
Attendees will be led through a ceremonial dragon hatching experience, where each person will step into the world of King’s Landing. There, they can select their own dragon egg, and demonstrate they are worthy of the bond of a dragon. From the caverns of Dragonstone to the magnificent Red Keep, guests will be ushered by a designated Dragonkeeper through seven dynamic phases, encountering special interactions, and sound sensory elements Powered by Bose, on their journey.
Eventually, fans will enter the Throne Room, where they can sit on the new Targaryen-era Iron Throne for a photo op. Once they have proven themselves to be true Targaryens, each person will hatch their personalized, virtual dragon egg in a new augmented reality app, “House of the Dragon: DracARys” (ahead of its July 25 rollout), which they can then take home and continue to “raise”.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to receive two fast-pass tickets each for the experience at designated “HBO Max Drop Zones,” which will serve as beacons for HBO Max activity across Comic-Con. Each visit to a Drop Zone will present attendees with unique giveaways: custom content, swag, VIP seats to screenings, and more.
It will be Thursday, July 21 – Sunday, July 24 at MLK Promenade (326 W Harbor Dr), during the following hours:
