Useful Apps for San Diego Comic-Con 2022

We always stress just how important social media is during San Diego Comic-Con – it’s a way to stay connected, to find out when your favorite booth is doing random goodie drops, and so much more. But outside of social media like Twitter and Facebook, there are some mobile apps that can make your life a whole lot easier during SDCC. So let’s take a look.

1. The Official Comic-Con International App

If you haven’t downloaded this yet, you really should. It’s not the greatest technologically advanced app you’ve ever seen, but it’s incredibly useful, and has some new functionality. It has the schedule for all five days, and you can search it, click to read full panel descriptions, star it to add it to your “Schedule”, and more. Plus, there’s a list of exhibitors, maps, and more.

2. The CLEAR App

To speed up the Covid-19 verification process, Comic-Con International will be using the CLEAR app. You can upload your vaccine or negative test information for them to quickly scan in order to receive your Covid-19 verification wristband. It’s only good for the US, though, so for you international folks or anyone who simply doesn’t want to download another app — you’re still welcome to bring physical or digital proof.

3. Pronto – San Diego App

The old Cloud Compass app for the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System is gone, and in its place is the new PRONTO app. This is the app you’ll use for the trolley, city buses, and more. We wrote about this very handy app earlier this year, but if you’re planning on using San Diego’s trolley system at all to get around, this is the way to do it. You can load money on as you go, and children 18 and under ride free this year.

4. UBER

If you’re headed somewhere not on the Comic-Con shuttle or trolley route, there’s also UBER. They’ll take you pretty much anywhere you want to go, give you the price up front (which is usually substantially cheaper than a taxi). This is also a great way to get to the Comic-Con Museum.

Similar to UBER, Lyft is a great way to get around.
