February is just flying by and while some of the country is being buried under snow flurries, we here at the UBlog have a flurry of WonderCon 2023 news and excitement for you.
We have not yet seen the official exhibitor list but everywhere we look folks like David Mack, E. M. Gist, and David Baron are announcing their placements. Patrick Ballesteros makes us hungry for ramen and we feel maximum love for JP Neang’s new mini series.
Let’s take a look at the news you might have missed:
- Artist and illustrator Mog Park will be touching down in Anaheim with plenty of prints, blank sketch covers, and original art. They will also be taking commissions. Find Mog in Artist Alley at #A-59.
- Monster Candy Publishing, with Amy Linsamouth will be at Booth #1611. Check out their upcoming Kickstarter project, the graphic novel Jackie and the Magical Guys, launching soon.
- Komickarl, Karl Altstaetter, whose work has graced Marvel, DC and Image books, will be in Artist Alley at #D-24. You’ll be able to get a sneak peek at his new project there, along with sketch covers and original art.
- We now know where creator Don Nguyen will be stationed at WonderCon, Artist Alley #E-24. But Don also did us a solid by tweeting the locations of all his friends and peers. Check out that list for where to find your faves. Thanks. Don!

- Fans of Grumpy Unicorn and its creator Joey Spiotto might be a little grumpy to learn that he will not be attending WonderCon this year. But [SPOILER ALERT]….if you’re attending SDCC in July you’ll be able to get your Spiotto fix there.
Sadly I am missing the show this year 😢

- Thanks, Patrick, now *we* are also hungry for ramen! Better make sure you have your (MULTI) pass if you want to have a chance to snag this Patrick Ballesteros Fifth Element piece. Stay tuned soon for a look at the full thing, nudge nudge wink wink.
It rained last night so now all I want is ramen. Also, here’s a peek at a new piece debuting @WonderCon. Make sure you get your multi-passes so you can pick it up next month 😂.#streetfood #wondercon2023 pic.twitter.com/yk0fMKBGPV

- If you’re all about the Symbiotes, then you’ll be happy to know that long time Venom artist Sam de la Rosa has WonderCon Anaheim on his (fully packed) schedule. His sketch covers and originals are something to behold.
- Does artist David Baron have the greatest smile in the comic biz? It would be a close contest between him and Jock, but you’ll be able to check David’s for yourself, along with all his amazing work, at WonderCon. Find him at Artist Alley #A-09.
- One of the best artist in the business right now is E.M. Gist, whose Star Wars variant covers harken back to the golden age of painted movie posters. Lucky for all of us, he’ll be in Artist Alley at #A-08.
- After a bit of a break, artist JP Neang is back at the drawing board and blooming with creative energy. JP is working on a brand new series of mini drawings just for WonderCon.
- Beep! Beep! Make way for this Road Runner print from artist Jeff Pina. You’ll see this print, plus all of Jeff’s others at his Artist Alley table, #C-59.
- Want to share your love of all things spooky plus get a free pass to WonderCon? The Hollywood Horror Museum is looking for some helpful ghouls and goblins to volunteer to man their booth. Hit them up for more info.
