WonderPost 2024: BB-CRE.8, Spoke Art, CHIPs Actors, Patrick Ballesteros, “DK” Metcalf

WonderCon starts tomorrow, and that means there’s only a few hours left to get in announcements about what find at the con. From signings with NFL superstars (hey, remember that time someone photoshopped a fake tweet from us talking about some sports “superstar” I had definitely never heard of? I do! If you’re that person, you suck! But this time it’s for real!), to CHIPs actors, to a surprising number of cat prints, we’ve got you covered.

Let’s take a look at the news you might have missed:

  • Didn’t get in on artist Patrick Ballesteros’ commission list in time? Or just can’t get enough of his original art? Ballesteros is bringing back his Mini Originals to his booth on Sunday, March 31, which means you’ll get a chance to try to score a small, framed piece of art. He showed off a few pieces he’s been working on (and re-working) to get exactly right for attendees.

  • Spoke Art will be taking over Booth #1109 this weekend, and you’ll be able to meet some exciting artists, including:
    • Friday, March 29
      • 1pm-2pm: Alex Pardee
      • 4pm-5pm: Dakota Randall
    • Saturday, March 30
      • 12pm-1pm: Zi Xu
      • 2pm-3pm: Joey Feldman
      • 4pm-5pm: Dakota Randall

They also teased some of this year’s prints, which will be available both at Booth #1109 and online beginning Thursday, April 4 at 10am PT. This year’s line-up includes artwork by Germain Barthélémy, Mark Bell, Anne Benjamin, Joshua Budich, Izzy Burton, Tim Doyle, Fabiocs, Joey Feldman, Andrew Kolb, Sarah Sumeray (This Is Fun, Isn’t It), Steve Thomas, Alex Pardee, Dakota Randall, Zi Xu, and more.

  • BB-CRE.8 is celebrating the biggest rom-com of 2024 with new enamel pin sets, because everyone deserves a happy ending. Stop by to celebrate the Merc with a Mouth and Wolvie at Booth #1925.

  • Artist Jeff Pina has been hard at work creating over 50 sketch covers. Stop by #C-59 in Artists Alley to find original artwork for your favorite fandoms, because he’s sure to have something you’ll like.

  • Gotta catch ’em all! Catch original art pieces at Val Hochberg’s #C-60 booth in Artists Alley, and tell her we said hi.

  • Award-winning artist Agnes Garbowska is always one of our favorite stops at WonderCon. The DC Super Hero Girls artist will be offering watercolor sketches, as well as selling original comic art, signed graphic novels, prints, postcards, and more at #C-12 in Artists Alley.

  • Get ready to hit the gas, because CHIPs actors Larry Wilcox and Erik Estrada, otherwise known as “Jon & Ponch” on the long-running ’70’s and ’80’s series, will be heading to WonderCon this weekend, presumably in the autograph area.

  • Some members of our team might be fans of Disney Lorcana, the hit Ravensburger immersive trading card game. If you share that love, you can catch artist and illustrator Casey Robin at #B-43 in Artists Alley, where she’ll be signing Lorcana cards for $25 per signature, and also doing quick sketches for $25 as an add-on.
