Oversized video screen takes over Gaslamp space

For those not local to San Diego, the space near Baja Rick’s (which is typically home to NBC Universal and their annual offsites) are going to look a bit different this year.

In mid-April, a 50-foot high video screen was installed, known officially as the “Gaslamp Quarter Station Digital Billboard”. It will serve as a new source of income for MTS, and it airs ads for local and national businesses — and presumably during Comic-Con, could air promos or related ads to the convention.

It will also surely have an impact on how NBC Universal (or any other offsite) can utilize the space.
