Artist and illustrator Kevin Tong somehow manages to instill a sense of kinetic ethereal energy to all his artwork. His pieces often provoke a sense of halted motion, as if time is standing still in the middle of a tornado.
His work has appeared on gig prints for Elton John, The Black Keys, Phish, and many other bands. Tong has also worked on prints for Bethesda Games, Microsoft, Netflix, and on numerous personal art prints.
This will be Tong’s tenth time exhibiting at San Diego Comic-Con and you can find him all weekend in his new location at Booth #4718 with a brand new booth setup. Tong is more than happy to review portfolios and offer any advice to aspiring professional illustrators.
Over the past year, Tong has been experimenting with printing on metal, using more metallic inks, and spot varnish. He will be offering new metal versions of three of his long sold-out prints. In addition to his new prints, Tong will be bringing with him some older works pulled from his extensive archives. On-site framing will be available for all prints, but only while supplies last. Unframed prints, depending on size, will go in hard mailers or be wrapped in Kraft paper. Cardboard tubes will be available for purchase for $10. New this year, Tong will be offering shipping of prints from the show, $10 domestic and $20 international.
