Under the Tents: Tokidoki, Welcome to Night Vale, Toy Tokyo, R2ME2, Titan Comics, Bluefin Tamashii

Today marks exactly three weeks until Preview Night and the start of San Diego Comic-Con 2015.  The news is going to be coming in faster and faster, so brace for it.  As time gets closer, we can’t stress enough how important it is to research and plan, and do it sooner rather than later.

Here’s a look at the news you might have missed:

  • Superfight tweeted that they will be at SDCC at Booth #2800 and they will have three new decks including The Walking Dead.  Superfight is a card based game where you get to argue why your fictional character with random powers will beat other characters,  It’s a lot of fun.

  • Even The Walking Dead Twitter account is excited about the team up with Superfight and the release at Comic-Con.

  • Comic artist Steve Bryant posted on Twitter that he is taking Comic-Con commission preorders.  Bryant is best known for his work on Athena Voltaire.

  • Jaimie Alexander, an actress best known as Sif from Thor, tweeted that she is working on something special for San Diego Comic-Con and NBC’s new show Blindspot.

  • Twitter user Edward out of Singapore reported on Twitter that the Tokidoki Unicorno Series 4 was spotted at the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) and will be heading to SDCC.

  • Artist Sara Richard posted on Instagram some Jurassic World art for Comic-Con.

  • Stan Lee Collectibles has posted on Twitter that they have an awesome announcement coming for SDCC.

  • BattleKasters posted on Twitter that you will be able to meet Brunin the battle bear from The BattleKasters game and The Red Sun book that the game is based on.

  • Art rep Felix Comic Art posted on Twitter that the Nick Dragotta commission list will open up next week. Check out the Felix Comic Art or Nick Dragotta Twitter pages.

  • The newly released Episode 70B of Welcome to Night Vale confirmed they would be at San Diego Comic-Con.  We gave it a little listen, and they said they will be there doing things. Hey, we all love a good tease, right?  More information to follow on their website and Twitter.

  •  Twin brother artists and illustrators Jack and Holman Wang tweeted that they will be at Comic-Con and have revealed their banner.  They make some really cute children’s books including Star Wars. If you have a kid that likes Star Wars, they are worth checking out!

  • Lisa Marie Varon, formerly known as WWE Victoria, posted on Instagram that she will be a special guest at the Headlocked booth #1901 at SDCC.  Headlocked is a coming of age wrestling comic book story.

  • Gunpla.USA posted on Facebook a picture of a Gundam model that will be available at SDCC 2015.  These models were previously only made available at events in Asia.  This is the first of more to come.

  • Multi-genre artist Denise Vasquez revealed a sneak peek of her R2ME2 on Twitter for the Sideshow Collectibles art show headed to San Diego Comic-Con.  It looks like this one is going to have some Dia de los Muertos flavor.

  • Artist Tony Harris has posted on Instagram an updated of his STARMAN print for Comic-Con limited to 100 copies.

  • Art dealer Sal Abbinanti posted on Twitter a picture of Bill Sienkiewicz’s Comic-Con 2015 sketchbook.

  • D. Bailey of the online web comic Catena Cafe posted on Twitter that they will have a presence at SDCC.

  • Toy Tokyo posted on Instagram a picture of their first San Diego Comic-Con exclusive.  It’s a flocked Funko Pop of Universal Monsters The Wolf Man.

  • The Official Comic-Con Toucan Tip #09 covers how San Diego Comic-Con has outgrown the convention center and its satellite locations – so they’re adding the San Diego Central Library, located just a few blocks from the convention center.  The library will be hosting educational programs, podcasts and web series programs, as well as The Art of Comic-Con gallery exhibition.
  • Titan Comics posted on their Tumblr page our first look at The Blacklist #1 SDCC exclusive variant cover that will be available at the Titan Comics Booth #5537.

  • Bluefin Tamashii Nations USA posted on Facebook their second hint pic of an upcoming San Diego Comic-Con exclusive.  The picture shows a silhouette of anime icon Goku from Dragon Ball Z.

  • Junko Mizuno tweeted that she will be at SDCC signing a new toy at Kidrobot and an art print at Gallary Nucleus.

  • Crowdfund Spirit tweeted a short video of a potential layout of their Comic-Con booth.

  • Cosplayer Cara Nicole aka AZ Powergirl posted on Twitter that she will be signing at the Desert Wind booth #4201.

  • Victoria Yang will be launching a new geek clothing company called Lace and Love, with an official launch at SDCC with their premier line of licensed goods from Naruto. Here’s a look at some of their clothing options:
  • Icon Heroes is dropping a bombshell, in the form of the new Harley Quinn Bombhells Mouse Pad. You can grab one now on ShopAFX for pre-order at the convention.
