Open Registration for San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Set for December 9

You’ll be decking the halls with Comic-Con badges this holiday season, as Comic-Con International has just confirmed that the fourth (and please, CCI, let it be the final one) badge sale for the year will be taking place on Saturday, December 9.

Yes, for those looking to score San Diego Comic-Con 2018 badges, December 9 will be your (mostly) final chance to score entry into the convention (just remember that there’s always various contests afterwards).

The process is virtually the same as last year, in that beginning at 8AM PT on December 9, eligible attendees will be able to access a waiting room using their Registration Code. That code will be both e-mailed to attendees and also found in your Member ID under the “Registration Info tab”. If you haven’t already made a Member ID, unfortunately, you’re out of luck until 2019, as CCI has currently closed the system off to new members.

Once you’ve verified your code on the morning of the sale, you’ll be able to stay in the waiting room until 9AM PT, when you’ll be randomly placed into a line to await your turn to check out. For those who had previously purchased a Four-Day badge without Preview Night, you’ll be able to add Preview Night on as a stand-alone option for $45 (and if you purchased any other combination of single day badges, so long as you didn’t purchase Preview Night, you can also pick up extra days). Confused about your eligibility? Simply login to your Member ID and look for the green checkmark on top that says you’re OK.

Here’s a look at the prices for badges this year:

Once you’re into the system, you’ll be able to purchase badges for up to three eligible Member IDs, including yourself.

The San Diego Comic-Con Unofficial Blog will be hosting a live Google+ Hangout during the sale beginning at 8:30AM PT on December 9, as well as sharing any glitches or issues that crop up during the sale on Twitter. We’ll also have our Visual Guide up shortly.

Will you be trying for a badge next weekend? Let us know in the comments.

You copy & pasted this from last time, but my email said that tickets started at 9:30 (NINE THIRTY) this year – confirmed?

  • Kenya Lonesome

So if you registered for nycc does that make you automatically registered for sdcc????

  • Matt

No, sorry. That would be nice, though. But if you have a MemberID from NYCC, then you can use that MemberID for SDCC. Log in to your memberID page on comic-con site and it will tell you if you’re eligable

  • Jsquared

SDCC and NYCC are unrelated cons and run by different companies. In order to be able to buy badges for SDCC you need to be registered on their website.

  • Kenya Lonesome

Ok. I just found out I’m registered with sdcc. Thank you for your help. 😊😊😊

  • Mckenzie Orchowski

Can you buy three tickets for three people that are not you?

  • Mathieu Chalifoux

Anyone still waiting for the Creative Accreditation Confirmation, I sent my application few months ago and still no word.

  • Ninboy

Only if those 3 people also have a Member ID.

to add on to Ninboy’s response you also cant if you bought preview night in return reg. for yourself.

Creatives/Trade were approved back in October. You should check your junk mail/folder etc.

actually here is where so many get confused by the wording. If you are logged in and validate on YOUR member ID and haven’t purchased any tickets or any additional tickets for yourself THEN you can purchase for 3 additional members but….BUT let’s say this is your first time, you get in and want to purchase tickets for yourself…that leaves you with the ability to only purchase for 2 additional people which totals 3 altogether including yourself. So plainly put (which semantically hasn’t been down here or CCI’s website) is that its UP to 3 people depending on whether you are including yourself in that round of ticket purchases or not. If you include yourself then technically it’s 2 people plus yourself for a total of 3.

all those “supposed” contests are nothing more then a means to solicit a bunch of JUNK from radio stations and other sites alike. It’s shameless way to send out bulk email garbage. Don’t bother with them.

Yeah. You should have heard by now. Creative badge sale has already happened. I got my approval about a week prior to the sale date. Latest I’ve heard was the day before.
