Universal is going all out for Scott Pilgrim’s con appearance this year and they just announced some awesome new stuff they have planned!
The first part of these plans is a big Universal panel on Thursday in Hall H. They will have the cast and director Edgar Wright in attendance to show off some new clips and talk about the film. Though this was expected, Universal is also hosting “Scott Pilgrim vs. Comic-Con” at the Hilton Gaslamp near the convention center. Starting Thursday Afternoon and running throughout the weekend, the event will include a DJ playing songs from the film’s soundtrack and a spot where you can make custom Scott Pilgrim Shirts. Though this would be pretty fun on its own, the amazing part is that the people working at this Tee-Making Station will be the director and cast of the film. Sure, having a Scott Pilgrim shirt is awesome; but what if that shirt was hand-crafted by Michael Cera?
In addition, the final volume of the SP graphic novel series, entitled Scott Pilgrim’s Finest Hour, will be released a day before Comic-Con starts. To celebrate this release, publisher Oni Press will have SDCC exclusive SP merchandise and a signing by series creator Bryan Lee O’Malley. There is even a solid chance he will be on a panel centered around the graphic novels.
Scott Pilgrim fans are looking at an awesome convention in their future.
