Under the Tents 2025: Val Hochberg, Chris Maze, Brianna Cherry Garcia, Lauren Walsh

It’s a very Thanksgiving edition of Under the Tents today! We are feeling extra thankful for all of our amazing readers today… and for the first major round of San Diego Comic-Con news. Now that you (hopefully) have your badge, it’s time to look forward to what you can see at San Diego Comic-Con 2025.

Here’s a look at what you might have missed:

  • Artist Chris Maze has already been hard at work on San Diego Comic-Con 2025, knocking at least one project off his to-do list.

  • Confirmations for San Diego Comic-Con 2025 table placements started rolling out yesterday, including comic book artist and writer Kraig Rasmussen, who will be returning to Small Press.

  • Do the Snoopy dance with us, because fan favorite Val Hochberg is heading back to San Diego Comic-Con. Will she sell out of her mini artwork pieces again this year? We think it’s a definite possibility.

  • Steven Prince and his Monster Matador graphic novel, finalist of the 2024 International Latino Book Award, will be tabling at San Diego Comic-Con next summer.

  • Seattle-based food illustrator Itadaki Yasu also received acceptance into the con. What yummy news!

  • Megan Huang, comic artist for Dark Horse, DC, Oni Press, Image, and beyond, was also accepted into San Diego Comic-Con 2025. Congratulations!

  • The gays are coming too, in the form of The Yaoi Army, who also received confirmation of placement, so be sure to stop by to pick up your yaoi comics and merch.

  • It just wouldn’t be Artist Alley for us without Brianna Cherry Garcia, so we’re glad to see she’s returning to the con again in 2025.

  • We can’t help but join illustrator Lauren Walsh in being super pumped she got accepted into San Diego Comic-Con 2025. Congratulations, Lauren!

  • Go give comic artist Arielle Jovellanos some tips on making it through San Diego Comic-Con, as she has been accepted into Artist Alley.

  • Boss Fight Books is bringing the fight (or at least their books) to San Diego Comic-Con for the first time! Catch them in Small Press next summer.
