game of thronesThe road to San Diego Comic-Con can often feel like a battleground – attendees have to claw their way to victory for badges, hotels, and their place in the Hall H line. HBO series Game of Thrones is taking that concept seriously, and inviting viewers to share the message #TakeTheThrone over social media for a chance at the ultimate award: a trip to San Diego Comic-Con for two.

Attendee hopefuls can either tweet #TakeTheThrone or like and comment on the series’ Facebook page with the hashtag, along with why they feel they should Take The Throne, by April 18, 2014.

Then, one lucky grand prize winner will be randomly drawn “on or about” April 23, and be flown along with a guest to San Diego Comic-Con this July. The prize package includes two four-day badges to Comic-Con, 3 nights stay in a hotel, round-trip airfare, and even ground transportation.

Additionally, the grand prize winner will be awarded a check for $1,908, along with a 7-inch Iron Throne replica, letter opener and plaque, each of which will be personalized with the winner’s Facebook name or Twitter handle and the hashtag #TaketheThrone. A lucky 16 First Prize winners will also receive the personalized Iron Throne replica, letter opener and plaque.

The contest is open to U.S. residents only, and you must be 18 years or older to enter. You can learn more by visiting the official HBO contest page.
