Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba at San Diego Comic-Con in 2008.

Here at The San Diego Comic-Con Unofficial Blog, we spend much of our time in an ongoing San Diego Comic-Con Twitter news search effort.  We come across countless SDCC news tidbits that we get to share with our readers.  In fact, sometimes we find so many con tweets that we often think perhaps our blog tagline should be “We troll the SDCC hashtag so you don’t have to.”

In our persistent con news search we often run across many questions tweeted at artists, writers, and celebrities about if they will be attending Comic-Con or not.  As fans we understand this — we would love to know if our favorite illustrator or celebrity will be attending to help make this the best con year yet.  However out of all the Twitter questions we come across,  there is often one name that stands above the rest:  Gerard Way.

For those who don’t know (though you appear to be in the minority), Gerard Way was in the now defunct band My Chemical Romance for years, before breaking out into a solo career with last year’s album Hesitant Alien. In the Comic-Con world, though, he’s best known for penning the Eisner-award-winning Umbrella Academy series.

And every year, everyone wants to know if he’s attending Comic-Con.

In fact, we find so many Gerard Way tweets that we have begun asking ourselves just how many times does Gerard Way get asked via Twitter if he will be attending Comic-Con?  We have decided to keep a running tab this year starting with January 2015.

Here are this months tweets:

Gerard Way Tweet

While we still don’t have word if Gerard Way will be attending SDCC 2015 or not (when we find out we will be sure to let you know), here is the total Gerard Way tweet count for January 2015:  15

This is by no means a complete list, but these are what we happen to come across in our SDCC news search efforts.  How many times will Gerard get asked in February? Take a guess and let us know in the comments.
