Now that all of NBC’s panels have been revealed for this year (Grimm, Heroes Reborn, Hannibal, The Player, and Blindspot), it’s time to turn our attention to the rest of NBC’s plans for San Diego Comic-Con. And just like in previous years, they look to be both interactive and big.
For the last several years, NBC has taken over the Tin Fish restaurant in Gaslamp Square, directly across the street from the convention center. Each year, they give it a makeover — some years for multiple shows, or some years, like last year’s revamp for The Blacklist, with just one show. This year that honor is going to Blindspot, and fans who visit the restaurant will receive both temporary tattoo sleeves and partake in a photo op where their head will be placed on a tattooed body, similar to the character of Jane Doe in the new NBC drama.
Outside of the restaurant, Heroes Reborn will be center stage in the rest of the Gaslamp Square. NBC is bringing a first of its kind 4-D interactive experience, where attendees will have the opportunity to access their own extraordinary pyro-kinetic ability through a multi-sensory experience of interactive visuals and kinetic effects. Fans will also be able to take an animated “heroic” photo and tour through a Heroes gallery featuring iconic props from the previous series.
NBC will also be taking over more of the Gaslamp District, as they’ll be hosting a Blindspot scavenger hunt. Attendees must search for the Jane Doe look-alikes around downtown, and then text in “Blindspot” to a number tattoed on her body to receive the next step to enter for a chance to win $1,000.
