[UPDATE] Although anyone who’s been to a Marvel Studios panel in Hall H before knows that the panel is basically always billed a “Kevin Feige” and friends, James Gunn took to Facebook today to clarify that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will indeed be part of the 5:30PM Saturday panel.
Best of all, he promised that we’ll also see Chris Pratt and “much of the cast” and that they’ll “have something special for you there”.
[PREVIOUS]Â It’s now confirmed: Marvel is back at Comic-Con this year. Get excited.
On a Facebook video today to discuss the last day of filming on the set of Guardians, director James Gunn said, “We, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, are coming to San Diego Comic-Con this year. We’re going to be there. I’m going to be there. Chris Pratt is going to be there. A bunch of the gang is going to be there. And we’re going to show you guys something, uh, something pretty cool.”
Chris Pratt, who was also in the video, said, “James’ movie… Ha ha ha, yes. See you at Comic-Con!”
While it’s much too early for a screening of the film (it literally just wrapped today) – that sounds suspiciously like we could get the first look at footage from Guardians – perhaps even a small trailer. After all, there’s over 30 days left until the convention, so that’s plenty of time to put together a teaser.
With Guardians in, you can bank on Doctor Strange also being in attendance. That film – which releases in the US on November 4 – has been wrapped for months, and will have plenty to show off. Plus, there’s still Derrickson’s Twitter comments, which all but already announced their own appearance.
[UPDATE]
Looks like Karen Gillan, at least, will also be heading in for the panel. It should be a packed house on Saturday at Comic-Con.
Looking forward to San Diego Comic Con this month!

[UPDATE] Zoe Saldana also confirmed to IGN that she’ll be on the panel.
From Facebook, here’s the video (with the relevant part around 3:20):
