Comic-Con International Auctioning San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Badges for UNICEF USA

San Diego Comic-Con Returning Registration — the first of the two big badge sales — kicks off this Saturday. Nothing makes people more nervous than a Comic-Con sale, mostly because due to the random lottery system that’s been implemented for badges and hotel sales, it’s all down to the fates whether you end up victorious or not.

But what if you could take away that stress? Well, if you have what is sure to be a pretty decent chunk of pocket change, you probably can — and you’ll get to support a good cause while you do it.

Starting on Thursday, October 26 at 3PM PT, Comic-Con International will begin auctioning off pairs of San Diego Comic-Con 2018 4-day with Preview Night badges on eBay, with 100% of all proceeds benefitting UNICEF USA in an effort to “give back to communities struggling to rebuild in the wake of devastating weather events”. The non-profit organization offers humanitarian aid for children in crisis, like those in Puerto Rico and Houston.

The remaining six pairs of badges will go up for auction on Saturday, October 28 at 9AM PT — and these auctions will last for 72 hours. So you can always try for a badge in Returning Registration, and if unsuccessful, go this route.

We fully expect the badges to go for significantly over retail value, but just how far is anyone’s guess. You can read more about the auctions and UNICEF USA on Comic-Con International’s website.
