If you hadn’t guessed yet, we’ll just tell you: Here at the San Diego Comic-Con Unofficial Blog, we’re big fans of artist Patrick Ballesteros, whose work you might recognize from The Late Late Show with James Corden or from his Punny Sweater series or his 25 Cent Wonders collection.
Ballesteros has been a mainstay in Artist Alley at both San Diego Comic-Con and WonderCon Anaheim for several years, and this March is no different, as you can find him at WonderCon Anaheim 2018 at Artist Alley A-07. And, as always, he’s bringing something extra-special to the convention, with his WonderCon/San Diego Comic-Con exclusive 25 Center Wonders Black Panther collection called, “WAKANDA KING ARE YOU” (get it?).
The collection features four prints, which combine to create a larger image with all your favorite Wakandans. We’ll be unveiling one print each today and tomorrow, and then the complete set on Wednesday – so freeze like an antelope in headlights, and stick around.
[UPDATE March 21] My son, it is your time – to see the final two pieces in Ballesteros’ “WAKANDA KING ARE YOU” collection, that is.
Today’s final reveal includes two pieces – “Sneak Attack”, which features T’Challa himself with Okoye, and “Down With the King”, which features Erik Killmonger, Ulysses Klaue, and W’Kabi atop a giant rhinoceros. The 6″x8″ prints are a limited run for both WonderCon and SDCC, and will retail for $10 each – or, you can pick up the complete set of four for $30 (which Ballesteros will also sign).
[UPDATE March 20] Witness the strength of the Jabari with the second in a set of four Black Panther prints from Ballesteros, which will be headed to both WonderCon and San Diego Comic-Con. “Challenge Accepted” features M’Baku and Ramonda, riding atop Man-Ape (and for fun, see if you can you spot Zuri). The 6″x8″ print is a limited run for both WonderCon and SDCC, and will retail for $10 each – or, you can pick up the complete set of four for $30 (which Ballesteros will also sign).
[PREVIOUS] Up first is “Driver’s Ed”, which features fan-favorites Shuri and Nakia, ready to kick some butt while having fun. This 6″x8″ print is a limited run for both WonderCon and SDCC, and will retail for $10 each – or, you can pick up the complete set of four for $30 (which Ballesteros will also sign).
You can find more of Ballesteros’ work on his website, or check him out at WonderCon Artist Alley A-07.
