Under the Tents: Funko, Nerd Nite, 3A Toys, Ninjabot, Weta Workshop

It’s gonna be… June! Soon, anyway. In this Under the Tents, we have teasers from Funko, some works in progress from artists, and a lot more.

Here’s a look at what you might have missed:

  • Elisa Teague tweeted some changes to her con schedule. Luckily, it includes her stopping by SDCC 2018. We’ll keep our eyes open for her appearances, signings, etc.

  • Nerd Nite San Diego announced via Twitter that it will be happening at SDCC this year and plans to release further details as Comic-Con approaches.

  • Disney artist James Silvani tweeted some info regarding his upcoming conventions, including SDCC, and his commissions. Expect to hear him announce SDCC commission openings sometime in June.

  • There’s a new kid on the block. Chrono Toys took to Instagram to announce they will be exhibiting at SDCC for their first time this year at Booth #4933. Be sure to visit their booth and make them feel welcome.

  • It’s a trap! Well, we certainly hope not! Artist Ryan Callahan seeks to celebrate Admiral Akbar with his latest SDCC exclusive and posted a work-in-progress tease to Instagram.

  • Prints of artist Kei Acedera’s latest piece, “Nostalgia“, will be available at SDCC this year.

  • Writer/artist Molly Knox Ostertag tweeted she will be on “various panels” at SDCC this year. We’ll know more about this as panel information is released.

  • One company that always brings their best for San Diego Comic-Con is 3A Toys. According to their Upcoming Events section on their website, they’ll be back at SDCC at Booth #5146. 3A Toys also often bring an offsite exhibit, so we’ll keep an eye on their social media for any announcements. (Thanks, Phil Black!)

  • Oh, Funko, when will you cease to torture us with your teases? (Answer: Probably never.) During one of their recent Twitter Q&A’s, they revealed that we can expect anywhere from 61 to 999,999 SDCC exclusives this year, which really narrows it down for us.

  • Artist Scott C. posted a candid shot of himself signing backing cards for his SDCC 2018 release, The Great Showdowns.

  • To us, an endorsement from the Geeky Hooker is gold, and she heartily endorses fellow artist Shozumi, who will also be dropping some of his work around SDCC.

  • I never freeze. At least, Arnel Baluyot, better known as Ninjabot, doesn’t. He’s busy working on his latest SDCC pieces.

  • Weta Workshop, who always brings their best to SDCC, has San Diego Comic-Con on their schedule this year as well. Relive some of the action they brought last year in the video below.
