Under the Tents: Wynonna Earp, Entertainment Earth, The Geeky Hooker, Patrick Ballesteros

Happy Post-Memorial Day! We hope you enjoyed your barbecues and get-togethers this weekend. While you were enjoying the unofficial start to summer, we were combing the internet looking for SDCC news. Well, we Googled stuff while lounging on a beach. It’s really nice in San Diego this weekend!

Here’s a look at what you might have missed:

  • While Earpers are still waiting for details from Wynonna Earp producer David Ozer or show writer Emily Andras as to just what to expect from the show at SDCC this year, we know for sure the Wynonna Earp Podcast – Tales of the Black Badge will be there.

  • Speaking of Wynonna Earp teasers, producer David Ozer is looking for a show of hands as to how many Earpers will be at SDCC this year. Maybe they’re trying to figure out a big enough venue for a season premiere viewing party? We can only guess (for now).

  • The Year of the Teaser continues with these teasers from Entertainment Earth. Thanos is coming… Look busy!

  • Your favorite crochet artist (and ours), the Geeky Hooker, will be bringing the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool himself, with her to Comic-Con. You’ll have to follow her Twitter and/or Facebook to find him (unless he has a card with your name on it). Best of all? The propeller really spins.

  • Our good friend, Patrick Ballesteros, is still hard at work on all his SDCC commissions. Look for him at Table #DD-08 in Artists Alley.

  • Ballesteros is also dedicating some time to his wildly popular 25¢ Wonders, posting a work-in-progress to his Twitter feed.

  • And if you want to make it in on Patrick Ballesteros’ few remaining commission spots, set your alarm: You can begin e-mailing him at midnight ET on Friday, June 1.

  • If you weren’t able to snag a free copy of Zero’s Journey from TOKYOPOP on Free Comic Book Day, you still have a chance to grab one at their SDCC booth this year.

  • Writer John Crowther was proud to announce his new series, John 3:16, will appear in the premiere issue of Mangazine from Antarctic Press, which is set to debut at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

  • Comic book writer G. Willow Wilson announced via Twitter she will be at SDCC this year with two big announcements. We’ll have to see just what these big announcements will be.

  • Another long-time Comic-Con attraction, the SDTEKKEN Gaming Room, will not be returning to SDCC this year. According to Mark Julio, they were not invited back for SDCC 2018. He hasn’t ruled out the possibility for future appearances, however.

  • DC artist Norm Rapmund announced via Twitter he will be at SDCC this year in Artists Alley at Table #II-02 and will be taking commissions. We’ll keep an eye out for more details on how to order.

  • Artist Sean Galloway took to Twitter to display a work-in-progress of an Avengers print he plans to debut at SDCC 2018.
