Happy Post-Memorial Day! We hope you enjoyed your barbecues and get-togethers this weekend. While you were enjoying the unofficial start to summer, we were combing the internet looking for SDCC news. Well, we Googled stuff while lounging on a beach. It’s really nice in San Diego this weekend!
Here’s a look at what you might have missed:
- While Earpers are still waiting for details from Wynonna Earp producer David Ozer or show writer Emily Andras as to just what to expect from the show at SDCC this year, we know for sure the Wynonna Earp Podcast – Tales of the Black Badge will be there.
Very excited to be attending #SDCC again this year! Can't wait to see our amazing #WynonnaEarp cast & all of the Earpers who are going. As usual I'll be sharing pics, doing Periscopes & releasing daily podcasts! I'm looking for an Earper roommate so we can split the hotel costs. pic.twitter.com/JMHutG34hO

- Speaking of Wynonna Earp teasers, producer David Ozer is looking for a show of hands as to how many Earpers will be at SDCC this year. Maybe they’re trying to figure out a big enough venue for a season premiere viewing party? We can only guess (for now).
Numbers please….any @WynonnaEarp fans heading to San Diego Comic Con? #sdcc2018

- The Year of the Teaser continues with these teasers from Entertainment Earth. Thanos is coming… Look busy!

- Artist Pernille Ørum will be traveling all the way from Copenhägen to bring her mermaids (among the rest of her work) to SDCC.
It’s official! I’m making a #MerMay book with all the #mermaids I’ve drawn this month and it’s available as pre-order (see link in bio). It’s going to be ready for #sdcc in. I will not be printing many more than the pre-ordered books, so make sure to get your copy. #mermaidsinmay pic.twitter.com/Q4wh8vnaM3

- Artist Val Hochberg tweeted some mini prints she plans to bring with her to SDCC (among other conventions).
MY NEW MINI PRINTS! I will have them for Phoenix Comic Fest this week, as well as Denver and SDCC! (And you can order them on https://t.co/1nmcc3QNSC too) I really hope you guys like them! 😀 pic.twitter.com/4cZWtvEWwL

- Your favorite crochet artist (and ours), the Geeky Hooker, will be bringing the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool himself, with her to Comic-Con. You’ll have to follow her Twitter and/or Facebook to find him (unless he has a card with your name on it). Best of all? The propeller really spins.
- TDArt Gallery announced they will be coordinating with a friend to exhibit work from several artists at SDCC this year, including Joe Benitez and Siya Oum. One of their artists, Cross, is accepting commission requests, although she can’t make it personally to Comic-Con this year. For details on size, pricing, and how to order, see her commissions page.
- Our good friend, Patrick Ballesteros, is still hard at work on all his SDCC commissions. Look for him at Table #DD-08 in Artists Alley.
Thunder gods goooo!!! A little Thor and Odinson commission for @Comic_Con to get your Wednesday started. I'll be opening a few more commission slots June 1 so make sure to email me then if interested! @SD_Comic_Con #SDCC2018 pic.twitter.com/crpZFyrAvR

- Ballesteros is also dedicating some time to his wildly popular 25¢ Wonders, posting a work-in-progress to his Twitter feed.
Hope you & your squad are rolling out to a relaxing weekend! Here's a WIP of a new #25centwonders debuting @Comic_Con this July.
Another #FBF 80's movie that's in my library of forever movies. They are classic monsters but points to those who know the exact movie! #SDCC2018 #sdcc pic.twitter.com/Lc9lAC8GSm— Patrick Ballesteros SDCC DD-08 (@PatrickBallest) May 25, 2018
- And if you want to make it in on Patrick Ballesteros’ few remaining commission spots, set your alarm: You can begin e-mailing him at midnight ET on Friday, June 1.
I will say EST cause making someone stay up til 3AM is not cool 😬

- If you weren’t able to snag a free copy of Zero’s Journey from TOKYOPOP on Free Comic Book Day, you still have a chance to grab one at their SDCC booth this year.
Did you miss out on getting your free copy of #ZerosJourney on @Freecomicbook Day? Good news: it's now available as a free ebook!
And if you really want a print copy, stop by our booths at AX or SDCC and we'll have a few extra copies to hand out! https://t.co/vmCP3YZsWG

- Comic book writer G. Willow Wilson announced via Twitter she will be at SDCC this year with two big announcements. We’ll have to see just what these big announcements will be.

- Another long-time Comic-Con attraction, the SDTEKKEN Gaming Room, will not be returning to SDCC this year. According to Mark Julio, they were not invited back for SDCC 2018. He hasn’t ruled out the possibility for future appearances, however.
After 16 years of history & battles, the SDTEKKEN gaming room will not be returning to @Comic_Con this year. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were not invited back for 2018. Let’s hope that 2019 will be better. Sorry TEKKEN fans & @BandaiNamcoUS, we’ll have to play elsewhere!

- DC artist Norm Rapmund announced via Twitter he will be at SDCC this year in Artists Alley at Table #II-02 and will be taking commissions. We’ll keep an eye out for more details on how to order.
