Under the Tents: Felicia Day, Ninjabot, The Geeky Hooker, Alex Ross

SDCC 2019 is slowly but surely creeping up on us and will be here before we know it. You’ll be ready, though, because you’re reading Under the Tents and finding all the juicy news from Felicia Day, Alex Ross, Ninjabot, and a lot more. There’s even crocheted critters from The Geeky Hooker.

Here’s a look at what you might have missed:

  • Artist Val Hochberg is working on new pieces for her convention appearances this year and would like your input. What would you like to see at her table at SDCC this year? Reply to her tweet and let her know.

  • SDCC regular Felicia Day posted her 2019 con schedule to her Twitter feed, and a keen-eyed fan noticed SDCC was not on the list. While this doesn’t necessarily mean she won’t be there at all (there’s a little hole in her schedule where SDCC would land), it simply means she’s not planning to be there yet.

  • We are particularly flattered when organizations use our posts as a springboard to make their own announcements. Bluefin Brands/Tamashii did just that to tease some “big plans” for SDCC this year. Just what those exact plans are remain to be seen, but we’re sure they’re not going to disappoint.

  • Were you able to order your copy of Alex Ross’s Detective Comics #1,000 exclusive prints? If not, he’s bringing whatever is left with him to SDCC 2019, so you’ll have another chance to pick one up.

  • Artist Dave Kellett posted his 2019 con/signing schedule to his Twitter feed. Thankfully, SDCC is among the five conventions where he plans to make an appearance and sign this year.

  • Ryan Cady, the writer behind Infinite Dark, informed an eager fan via Twitter that he will be at SDCC this year but most likely will not be tabling there. Conventions really are more fun when we get to interact with our favorite writers and artists.

  • YouTube host and cosplayer Ani-Mia also included SDCC in her 2019 convention schedule when she posted it to her Twitter feed.

  • If you stopped by Ninjabot’s SDCC booth last year, you saw them demo their new Pop Cats game. It looks like they’re not done yet, since Ninjabot Game Developer Estefania Rodriguez teased “super cool stuff” is coming to Ninjabot’s SDCC 2019 booth. We’re very excited to see just what awesome stuff they’ve been working on.
