Today marks 30 days, just one little month, until San Diego Comic-Con 2019. The excitement is palpable as we see so many artists, authors, and entertainers make their SDCC plans. We have quite a few of those for you, so let’s kick off this Monday edition of Under the Tents with some juicy Comic-Con news.
Here’s a look at what you might have missed:
- If you grew up with the PowerPuff Girls (or had a sister who did, like me), you remember Mojo Jojo. Diana Leto pays homage to the villainous chimp in her latest painting she’ll have with her at SDCC 2019.

- Have you been following our Commissions post? If you are, then you already knew that pin-up artist Carla Wyzgala opened her SDCC commissions list. If you’d like a custom piece of her art, you’ll need to get in touch with her now, as she is not doing any commissions on-site.

- Someone who will be taking commissions on-site is artist Daniel Warren Johnson. According to his tweet, it looks like he’ll only take a few each day, so you’ll want to find him early if you’d like to get on his list.

- Artist Zorilita-Mary Bellamy only has nine spaces left on her commission list. Here’s an example of something she’s working on right now for someone for SDCC. If you’d like something like this for yourself, visit our Commissions post to find out how to get on her list.

- It’s a sure thing that you’ll find Sure Thing Toys at SDCC this year. See what I did there? Worked in a Dad Joke the day after Father’s Day.

- The good folks at Fat Rabbit Farm posted a tease of their latest plush they’ll have at SDCC. Can you guess who it is? I’m sure you’ll get it in a snap.

- Narwhals are totally real. Don’t @ me. You can, however, discuss this with artist Joey Chu when you buy one of his enamel pins depicting these unicorns of the sea. Find him and his totally real narwhals at Gallery Nucleus’s Booth #2015.

- Are you ready for crochet? Of course you are. The Geeky Hooker decided to break one of her personal rules (sort of) to create her Deadpool Pikachu critter she plans to drop somewhere at SDCC. Follow her Twitter and/or Facebook to see where you can find this chimichanga.
Happy Monday! I’ve got a new critter ready for SDCC – it’s not what you think.https://t.co/dgvqXuSeWD pic.twitter.com/D5VphbhLoh
